Pastoral Message

“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without inconstancy or insincerity. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for those who cultivate peace.” (Wisdom 3:17-18) "All good action done with love is an act for peace," said Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Two Sundays ago I told you at the Mass that 'All good works are a sign of the presence of God.' Dear brothers and sisters, all good action on behalf of those most in need, is a way of expressing our faith. Today I want to congratulate and thank the team of the ministry of SaintVincent de Paul for the walk made this Saturday, September 22 to collect funds and thus continuing to help so many people that come to the parish in search of our help. Thanks to Saint Vincent de Paul for everything they do for the benefit of the poor and most needy and of course, thanks to everyone who participated in the walk and / or made their respective donations. May God bless you abundantly for your generosity. Symbolon! I want to remind you that every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., we have our Symbolon program. Symbolon is an opportunity to know and deepen our faith, to get closer to Jesus and to know more about our church. If we know more about Jesus, we will love him more. If we know more about our Church, our love for her will also grow. I know we all have busy days, family, work, children's games, etc. but it is good and necessary to make time to nourish our spiritual life and know our faith. Mensaje Pastoral “Pero los que tienen la sabiduría que viene de Dios son puros, ante todo. Además, son amantes de la paz, comprensivos, dóciles, están llenos de miseri-cordia y buenos frutos, son imparciales y sinceros. Los pacíficos siembran la paz y cosechan frutos de justicia.” (Sabiduría 3:17-18). “Toda acción buene hecha con amor es un acto por la paz,” decia la Madre Teresa de Calcuta. Hace dos domingo yo les decia en la misa que ‘Todo obra buena es un signo de la presencia de Dios.’ Queridos hermanos, toda acción buena en favor de nuestro hermano, especialmente de los más necesitados es una forma de expresar nuestra fe. Hoy quiero felicitar y agradecer al equipo del ministerio de San Vicente de Paul por la caminata realizada este sábado 22 de Septiembre para recoger fondos y asi continuar ayudando a tantas personas necesitas que acuden a la parroquia en busca de nuestra ayuda. Gracias a San Vicente de Paul por todo lo que hacen en beneficio de los pobres y más necesitados y por supuesto, gracias a todos los que participaron en la caminata y/o hicieron sus respectivas donaciones. Dios pague en abundancia su generosidad. Symbolon! Quiero recordarles que cada miércoles a las 7:00 pm, tenémos nuestro programa Symbolon. Symbolon es una oportunidad para conocer y profundizar más en nuestra fe, acercarnos más a Jesús y conocer más a nuestra iglesia. Si conocemos más de Jesús lo vamos a amar más. Si conocemos más acerca de nuestra Iglesia nuestro amor hacia ella tambien va a crecer. Yo se que todos tenemos dias muy ocupados, la familia, el trabajo, los juegos de los niños, etc. pero es bueno y necesario hacer tiempo para alimentar nuestra vida espiritual y conocer nuestra fe. Fr. Mathew Kakkattupillil V.C., a Vincentian Mis-sionary Priest From India, will be in our parish next weekend September 29 & 30 to participate oin our Annual Missionary Cooperation Plan. He will preach at all the Masses. And will make an appeal on behalf of the Vincentian Missions. LECTURAS DE LA SEMANA

In one way or another, we all desire great-ness. Greatness can come in many different forms: sports, academics, music, etc. It is natural for us to want to be very good at whatever it is we are doing. However, if we are not careful, that desire for greatness can swiftly spiral out of control. This is

what we see happening in our Gospel this weekend. The Apostles of Jesus had let their desire for greatness get out of control. So much so that they had gotten into an argu-ment about it, which was upsetting to Jesus. In order to call them back to order, Jesus tells them that true great-ness comes through humility. By being a servant and be-ing childlike, we can truly be great in the eyes of God. At the root of both of these things lies the virtue of humility. Humility is that virtue which allows us to recognize and admit the truth about our lives. By understanding and admitting who God is and who we are, we are able to then be in a good place to hear and heed the Word of God. If you are struggling to hear the Voice of God, try praying for humility. Place your trust in your Heavenly Father just as a child places its trust in its earthly father. Find ways to be a servant to those around you.
