OUR MISSION STATEMENT
SS. Peter & Paul Parish, a community of faith called by God to deepen
our relationship with Jesus Christ, serves the Lord by sharing our time,
talent and treasure. As disciples of Christ, we are called to bring Jesus
Christ to ourselves and others: our children, the sick, the poor, the fallen
away Catholics and those who need to hear God’s message of uncondi-
tional love and forgiveness. SS. Peter & Paul Parish is a beacon of light
rooted in Jesus Christ, passed on to his successor, our Holy Father the
Pope, and is guided by our local bishop to build the Kingdom of God on
Earth. It is our mission to shine the light of Jesus Christ in our world and
to spiritually enrich the individual members of the parish as well as the
larger community through word, worship, sacrament and service.

It’s a Wonderful Life !
Many people have thanked the parish for sponsoring
the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, during the Christ-
mas break. It was quite enjoyable, and for many of
us, reminiscent of years gone by.
The parish hopes to do this again during the
coming year. A quote from the end of the movie:
“No life is a failure who has friends.”
Teilhard de Chardin
“We serve to complete the work of creation
even by the humblest work of our hands.”

(Matthew 2:1–12 and foretold in Hebrew Scriptures (Psalms 72:10 and 138:4 and in Isaiah 60: 5,11)

Happy New Year!
What Year is it? 2018! Wow!
As we begin a new calendar year we are extremely grateful for what God has provided to us in the past. Yes,
there have been challenges and struggles, but there has always been the knowledge and understanding that God
would never give us more than what we could handle, and that when things got really difficult —He carried us
through!
We thank God for the parishioners of our parish and their concern and involvement in the parish and
the community. We ask God to help us continue to seek and to realize His presence in our lives, and now ask
Him to continue to bless us in special ways throughout 2018, A.D. (Anno Domini means Year of Our Lord).
~ Fr. Ed

What do we know about abortion?
God will hold us accountable. As Dietrich Bonhoeffer said in Germany during the years leading up to
the “final solution” of the Third Reich, “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless.
Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
