HistorySaint Patrick
• Saint Patrick was born in the 4th century in England.
• He was kidnapped by Irish raiders and brought to Ireland as a Slave!
• He escaped captivity and fled to England where he studied to be a priest.

• In 432, he returned to Ireland as a bishop to bring Christianity to the Irish.
•After 30 years of teaching Christianity to the Irish people he died on March 17, 461.
•This is why Saint Patrick’s Day is on March 17th.
•According to legend, Saint Patrick rid the entire island of Ireland of snakes.

• Saint Patrick is considered to be the most important person of Irish Christianity.• Many people believe that he used the Shamrock to explain the Christian doctrine of the Trinity to the Irish people.
The three leaves of the Shamrock were used to represent the uniting of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit into the Trinity

The Four-Leaf Clover• The Four-Leaf Clover is a Shamrock, BUT instead of only having Three leaves it has Four.•According to legend, the 4 leaves represent FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, and LUCK.

Leprechauns are portrayed in the form of old men wearing a green coat who like to do mischievous things.
They spend their time busily making shoes and hide all of their gold coins in hidden Pots of Gold at the end of Rainbows!
