FOR WEEKEND OF MAR 5
Offerings: $9,162.00
Thank you very much for your continuing support and generosity.
There are four ways of giving to St. Patrick’s Church: 1. Making contributions through your bank in person or online. 2. Making gifts to church of appreciated securities. 3. Making a one time or an annual end of the year gift. 4. Establishing a legacy gift as part of one’s estate planning.
Please see our website www.stpatsfarm.org for more details. Thank you.
March 7, 2017 Dear Parishioners, In preparation for an addition to our church, I had an extensive conversation with John Wilson who is one of the partners for Letter Concepts. Letter Concepts is a fundraising firm which has been a part of the life of the Archdiocese for many years. They presently administer the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal cam-paign and have participated in fundraising drives in many of the parishes of the Archdiocese. They have worked with Father Mark Flynn, our previous pastor, to successfully increase our offertory and have also worked with previous pastors as well. Letter Concepts has evaluated our financial situation based on our offertory giving and our annual support of the Archbishop Annual Appeal. Their conclusion is that our parish can support a fundraising appeal goal of $2.3M. If this amount is added to our present funds which have been set aside for our building ren-ovation, we would be able to have a renovation budget of approximately $4.1M/4.2M. I believe this is adequate to make the additions to our parish structures necessary to make our parish ministry effective for the future. I wish to mention that St Patrick Parish according to present Archdiocesan plans will be a stand-alone parish. I also recently read an article in the business section of a national newspaper quoting the CEO of the world’s largest advertising agency. In order to be a successful business person, he said one must make room in one’s life to spend time thinking and exam-ining business concepts and new ideas. I think that the same can be said for our faith life. We need to take time to meditate on what it means to be a disci-ple living according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a healthy spiritual exercise. Lent is a perfect time to incorporate this in our personal life – reflecting on what faith means in me to my personal life with those responsibilities and opportunities pro-vided to me in God’s providence. Father Barry

Then Peter said to Jesus in reply, "Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him." - Mt 17:4-5
