A warm welcome is extended to all who come to St. Mary’s-Stony Hill to join together in this community of worship and praise to Almighty God. We are grateful to our faithful parishioners and welcome our neighbors and guests who visit us occasionally. We want you to know that you are always welcome! All parishioners should be registered with the parish office. Please notify the parish if you change your address or move out of the parish. Certificates of eligibility to sponsor at Baptism or Confirmation will be given only to registered parishioners who are active and practicing Catholics.

We offer religious education for children of registered parishioners, who attend public school grades Pre-K thru 8. In addition, preparation for the Sacraments of First Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation is also provided for students who attend Catholic schools. Please check our website or contact the Office of Religious Education for information.

Due to privacy laws, we are no longer notified when parishioners are admitted to local hospitals. We are happy to visit sick or homebound parishioners when requested by family members. Please call the parish office to make arrangements. Emergency sick calls can be made at anytime by calling the parish office and selecting “9”. Mother’s Day Prayer

All-loving God, we give you thanks and praise for mothers young and old.

We pray for young mothers, who give life and count toes and tend to our every need; May they be blessed with patience and tenderness to care for their families and themselves with great joy.

We pray for our own mothers who have nurtured and cared for us; May they continue to guide us in strong and gentle ways.

We remember mothers who are separated from their children because of war, poverty or conflict; May they feel the loving embrace of our God who wipes every tear away.

We pray for women who are not mothers but still love and shape us with motherly care and compassion.

We remember mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen.

Religious Education Volunteers Needed! We are in the process of setting up next year’s program and are in need of catechists, aides and hall monitors. Working with our children is such a rewarding ministry. If you’re interested in learning more about what’s involved, please call Cathy Cooney, Director of Religious Education at 908-756-6524 ext. 16 or email her at [email protected].

Remember in Prayer We offer our sincere sympathy to the families of Robert Nehring and Alice Witkowski, who died recently. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in God’s peace.

    Stewardship Reflection

“The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” 1 Pt. 2:7 Everyone is given unique gifts. Many people are able to recognize their talents and abilities, but there are many people who are unsure of their gifts. This may make them feel worthless. If you know someone who is struggling for a direction in life, give them a little encouragement. Help them discern how they might use their skills. No gift is too small or insignificant.

    Mass for Home-School Families

The Most Reverend James F. Checchio, Bishop of Metuchen, will celebrate Mass for Home School Students and their Families Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church (105 Mine St., Flemington). Light refreshments and fellowship to follow. Please rsvp by May 31. Register online at diometuchen.org/homeschoolmass. If you have any questions, call Erin at 732-562-2463.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Have faith in God and faith in me.” - Jn. 14:1

  • St. Mary’s-Stony Hill, Watchung

Sharing the Gospel Worry. Many times we worry. We worry about sounds in the dark. We worry when our pet is sick. We worry when your parents are not home. We worry about strangers. Worry. Worry. Worry. Jesus says, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me." Do the best you can and trust that God will do the rest.
