DISCERNMENT GROUP -Just an update for June - our
Southern Tier discernment group continues to go very
well. One of our members is currently applying to the
Diocese and the seminary...
Note: we will not have a discernment group meeting at Ss.
John and Andrew on the first Saturday. Instead, I am
encouraging those thinking about a vocation to the
priesthood to attend the ordination in Syracuse of Deacon
Matthew Lyons to the priesthood. It is a powerful event
and can be a very powerful experience for a young man
considering the call! We will resume our meetings at Ss.
John and Andrew in July.
Please keep sending names of the young men in your
parishes ( altar servers, members of the youth group, etc.)
who you think might have a vocation so I can make contact
with them. This is the most effective way for us to invite
young men to think and pray about it.
When you approach a Priest, or
Eucharistic Minster to receive Communion, the
Church recommends that you either bow
profoundly, genuflect or kneel in order to
receive communion.
NOCTURNAL ADORATION SOCIETY will meet at St.
Patrick Chapel from 7:00 to 8:00 pm May 20, 2017. All
members at same hour.
"FRUIT OF THE VINE - Wine Appreciation 101, with

and Eagle Crest Vineyards will be featured. Cost is $5 per

FAMILY PERSPECTIVE– Jesus tells us in the gospel: ‘I
am in the Father and Father is in me!” The point is : God is
in each one of us, in our relationships and in our homes.
The vocation of the Christian family is to live the divine gift
which is already in and around us.
