40 Days for Life Spring Campaign is a peaceful prayerful
campaign which seeks to end abortion through prayer,
fasting and peaceful witness outside local abortion facilities.
The campaign, directed by Catholic Charities Office for Life
and Justice, is seeking volunteers to pray outside Capital
Care of Toledo, for 40 days straight, beginning Ash
Wednesday. Sign up to pray between 7am and 7pm at
www.40daysforlife.com/toledo. For more info, contact Peter
Range at 419-214-4933 or [email protected]
Our Deanery REBOOT! program, that was originally scheduled for December 4th, was rescheduled for September 24, 2020. It came to the attention of Real Life Catholic (RLC) that we are in close vicinity to St. Wendelin (Fostoria) who had been given a REBOOT date of September 23rd. Therefore, RLC has cancelled our event. Those that purchased tickets may use them for the event at St. Wendelin or may receive a refund. Please contact Terri Reinhart 419-638-3042, or Shannon Stull for more information

HOLY FATHER’S PRAYER INTENTION FOR MARCH
Catholics in China
We pray that the Church in China may persevere in its faithfulness to
the Gospel and grow in unity.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This past Wednesday evening at Saint Michael’s, we had
a wonderful gathering of members of both of our
parishes, and again this past Thursday morning at Saint
Mary’s, as I shared reflections on prayer, one of the three
great disciplines of holy Lent. The next presentation in
our Lenten faith formation series will be offered by
Bishop Daniel Thomas on Wednesday, March 18 at Saint
Mary’s. All are welcome from Saint Michael’s and Saint
Mary’s to a soup potluck supper at 6:00 p.m. in the Parish
Hall, followed by the praying of Vespers (Evening
Prayer) from the Liturgy of the Hours with our Bishop at
6:45 p.m. in the church, which will then lead into Bishop
Thomas offering his reflections on the Lenten discipline
of fasting.
As pastor of our 19-county Diocese of Toledo in
Northwest Ohio, Bishop Thomas is certainly a very busy
person. We are very blessed to welcome him back to our
parishes, which he has not had the opportunity to visit
since 2017, in the case of Saint Mary’s, and 2018, in the
case of Saint Michael’s. Just last week, we submitted
requests to the Chancery (the Office of the Bishop) for
Bishop Thomas to visit each of our parishes between Fall
2020 and Summer 2021. Even as we look forward to
welcoming our Bishop on March 18, we already look
forward to his next visits to both Gibsonburg and
Millersville.
In the meantime, as we prepare to warmly welcome
Bishop Thomas again, let us pray for him, that God will
give him the strength he needs for the ministry he offers
us in the name of Jesus Christ.
O God, shepherd and ruler of all the faithful,
look favorably on your servant,
whom you have set at the head
of your Church of Toledo as her shepherd;
grant, we pray, that by word and example
he may be of service to those over whom he presides,
so that, together, with the flock entrusted to his care,
he may come to everlasting life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Keep the faith as our Lenten journey continues!
Sincerely,
Reverend Scott S. Woods
Pastor
