PARISH BREAKFASTS – 2ND AND 4TH SUNDAYS OF THE MONTH

If you haven’t tried our parish breakfast yet, make plans to do so. It is fresh, delicious, economical, and gives you an opportunity to share some time with fellow parishioners. The Knights of Columbus work hard for our church and serve from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM on the 2nd, and 4th Sundays of the month. For only $8 for adults, and with reduced prices for children, enjoy: eggs, bacon, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, french toast, pancakes, pastry, juice & coffee. Support our parish and have a wonderful breakfast. It is a terrific alternative to getting stuck in parking lot traffic.

KITCHEN DONATIONS HELP! Whether you donate food, personal hygiene items, or St. Lucie Kitchen gift certificates, your donations serve many in need. Every week many families are fed. It costs about $3.00+ per person to provide a nutritious hot dinner. Thanks to your generosity, our “bread and fishes” continue to multiply.

BIBLE STUDY AT ST. LUCIE The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, helpful in building us up so that we may serve, love and glorify God and His Son, Jesus Christ, as we are intended to do. All are welcome to participate in bible study on Saturday mornings at 9:30 AM in the parish library of the Parish Center. Bring your bible!

THURSDAY ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

Jesus hides His immense glory, beauty and dignity in the Blessed Sacrament because he wants us to come to Him in faith that we may love Him for Himself. “Come to me all of you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will refresh you.” (Mt 11:28) Eucharistic Adoration is simply our response to Jesus’ love for

us, whereby each of us is willing to spend a quiet holy hour of prayer in His Eucharistic presence once a week on a regular basis.

Eucharistic Adoration is held every Thursday in St. Lucie Parish beginning at 9:15 AM until 5:00 PM. Adoration ends with benediction (blessing). Eucharistic Adoration is also held every first Friday of the month, year-round, beginning at 9:15 AM ending with Benediction at 7:00 PM. Thanks to the many parishioners who come forward and commit to an hour each week to ensure the Blessed Sacrament is never alone. All Parishioners are invited and encouraged to spend quiet time with Jesus. Gratitude is expressed to the people who sign up to be present during all the hours listed so that this most sacred of devotions may take place.

BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG In order to express our support and encouragement to women and families in crisis pregnancies, our parish participates in a Baby Bottle Fundraiser for the Pregnancy Care Center. Baby bottles will be distributed in the Rotunda next weekend, February 8th and 9th. Please try to fill the bottle with your spare change over the next weeks. We will ask for the bottles to be returned on weekend of February 22 and 23rd. Thank you for your participation!

PRAY FOR VOCATIONS

BROTHERS AND SISTERS, GO FORTH! Remember the beauty of your first call. Jesus continues to call you today with the same full love and untamed grace. GO FORTH! There is always more to do, to encounter, to be grateful for, to be astonished by. Begin and end with the joy of prayer – the marrow of consecrated life. GO FORTH! Each of us has a role to play in the Church. Witness and sow well each day and look to tomorrow with hope. GO FORTH! Grow in love for God so that others will be attracted by the divine light in you. Welcome the new vocations the Lord sends to continue the work of consecration. We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of God and first disciple of her son, Jesus, our Lord. Amen The above prayer was adopted from the concluding message of Pope Francis at the close of the Year of Consecrated Life on XX World Day of Consecrated Life.
