Prayer to Saint Kateri Tekakwitha St. Kateri Tekakwitha, favored child and Lily of the Mohawks, I come to seek your intercession in my present need: (mention it). I admire the virtues which adorned your soul: love of God and neighbor, humility, obedience, patience, purity and the spirit of sacrifice. Help me to imitate your example in my state of life. Through the goodness and mercy of God, Who has blessed you with so many graces which led you to the true faith and to a high degree of holiness, pray to God for me and help me. Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me

also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

Religious Educa on News

Our office is closed for the summer. We will re-open in August.

First Holy Communions We invite all of the First Holy Communion Students to wear their First Holy Communion ou its to Mass on either June 22nd or June 23rd, for Corpus Chris , The Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. There will be a special procession a er the 10:30 am Mass.

From the Pastor's Desk… I do not know how many of you are aware that we didn’t have much of spring season this year. I was wai ng for three full months of spring flowers and pleasant weather. Instead we moved quickly from winter to summer. Summer never makes Pastors hap-py because parishioners go on vaca on, mass a end-ance is reduced and collec ons decrease. But children are thrilled to be done with school for the year and families are happy to travel and enjoy vaca on me. As the summer season rolls in, I wish all our families safe travel and res ul family me. Let me also take this opportunity to thank you for your presence on Sunday Eucharis c celebra ons every week, your in-volvement in building up our parish faith community and your weekly contribu ons without which St. Kate-ri will not be able to thrive as a vibrant faith family in our Archdiocese. Thanks everyone. Next week we will celebrate the feast of Corpus Chris . It is the celebra on of the Body of Christ. In most parishes, before the summer break this feast is celebrated with a procession carrying the Eucharist where children who received first Holy Communion that year a end in their Communion ou its. We will have the Corpus Chris procession next Sunday a er 10:30 Mass. Though we take the Eucharist in proces-sion, it is truly the celebra on of each one of us who are the Body of Christ. The ques on is, are we con-sciously living as the Body of Christ daily because Christ depends on each of us to con nue His saving ministry? This is a prayer we sang daily in the semi-nary a er receiving Holy Communion. Sing it or pray it, if not every me you receive communion, at least on Corpus Chris Sunday a er Communion. SOUL OF MY SAVIOUR, SANCTIFY MY BREAST (HYMN)

Soul of my Saviour, sanctify my breast; Body of Christ, be thou my saving guest;

Blood of my Saviour, bathe me in thy tide, wash me with waters flowing from thy side.

Strength and protection may thy passion be;

O Blessed Jesus, hear and answer me; deep in thy wounds, Lord, hide and shelter me;

so shall I never, never part from thee.

Guard and defend me from the foe malign; in death’s dread moment make me only thine;

call me and bid me come to thee on high, where I may praise thee with thy saints for aye.

(Ascribed to John XXII, 13th century)

Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church THE MOST HOLY TRINITY

First Reading: Proverbs 8:22-31 God created Wisdom before he created the earth or the skies. This spirit stood beside God every day un l the earth was complete, then "found delight in the people of the earth." This indicates that the spirit of wisdom was later personified by Jesus.

Second Reading: Romans 5:1-5 Paul says that we are now at peace with God through our faith in Jesus. We also hope to see the glory of God. This hope will not leave us disappointed because of the love God has shown in sending us the Holy Spirit.

Gospel: John 16:12-15 Jesus tells the disciples that when he leaves them, a Spirit will help guide them to the truth. This Spirit will announce what he hears from Jesus, rather than speaking on his own. Everything God has also belongs to Jesus, which is why those things announced by the Spirit will actually come from Jesus.
