Introduction to the Liturgy of the Day As we gather at God’s invitation, we continue our Ordinary Time reflections on discipleship today with Jesus’ teaching of the Beatitudes.

How blessed we are to know that God loves even the least of us and wants all of us to live by the law of love. May our prayer today be for the grace to live the Beatitudes as Christ desires that we do.

First Friday Holy Hour

“If in our time Christians must be distinguished above all by the ‘art of prayer’, how can we not feel a renewed need to spend time in spiritual converse, in silent adoration, in heartfelt love

before Christ present in the Most Holy Sacrament? How often, dear brother and sisters, have I experienced this, and drawn from it strength, consolation and support!” (Pope St. John Paul II, Ecclesia de Eucharistia, no.25) On February 3

rd exposition, adoration and benediction

of the Blessed Sacrament will take place at Saint Joseph Church between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. All are invited to attend.

For the past several years Mrs. Gayle Brick has been a friendly and familiar face in our parishes. She exercised many roles from serving as the Director of Religious Education at Saint Joseph Parish to her current role as Coordinator of Parish Life and Ministries for both Saint Gabriel and Saint Joseph Parishes. Gayle will be leaving this post at the end of January. I know that you join me in thanking Gayle for her unwavering commitment and service to our parishes. Since my arrival I am personally indebted to Gayle for her highly competent, professional, and caring nature. Her legacy will continue through the many ministries she supported throughout her tenure. I invite all of you to a coffee reception in her honor next Sunday, February 5

th, after both Masses at Saint

Joseph Church. May God’s choicest blessings shower upon Gayle in all of her future endeavors.
