Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults will
NOT meet again until Jan. 5th at 7 pm in the Youth
Room. Anyone who missed the last class should
stop by during office hours to pick up their material
and read the first 3 sections (Sacraments, Baptism,
and Confirmation)
K-8 (CCD) will not resume until January 8 for
the Christmas holiday.
The High School Youth Group Youth Group will not meet the next two Wednesdays
due to the holiday season. We will resume on
January 4th
.
Gasper River Youth and Young Adult
Camps Gasper River will hold two youth camps for the
winter season. For 9th
– 12th
graders, there is a
camp from Dec. 29th
– Jan.1st. Cost is only $75.
Then, from Jan. 11th
– Jan. 15th
, there is a Yong
Adult Camp for 18 and over. The theme is “Who is
My Neighbor” and cost only $20. Check out the

Christmas Poinsettia Fund Honor your loved one living or deceased by
contributing.
Chrismon Tree—Pick up your copy of the
history of the St. Joseph Chrismon Tree and its
symbols located on the display case in the side
entrance atrium.
CHRISTMAS PLAY IN OUR PARISH We will have a bilingual Christmas play on January
1st in the parish hall after the 12:30pm Mass. You are
encouraged to come to enjoy the play, music, and
afterwards light refreshment. Come to share the joy
of Christmas. The play will be mostly in Spanish
with some English parts. An English script will be
available. Pastorela is a play presentation about the
birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. It was used for
the missionaries in Latin America in the colonization
time to communicate the message of Christmas to
the Natives. It is a tradition kept by people in many
places in Latino Countries, especially in Mexico.
St. Vincent de Paul Conference Thanks Our SVdP Conference wants to thank so many in the
parish that contributed to the “Giving Tree” this
year. We were able to bring the Christmas spirit to
many families.
Our SVdP conference worked very hard the week
leading up to Christmas doing everything possible to
bring Christmas joy to those less fortunate. It could
not have been done without each and every one of
yours help. God bless you all and Merry Chritmas!
Wisdom Group The Wisdom Group will meet the first Friday of
January, January 7th
after the Noon Mass. All 55 and
over are invited to join this wonderful group!
The Bible Discussion Group will meet January
18, 2012 to continue the review the “Magnificat
Roman Missal Companion.” We will work in the
booklet through pg. 105 & complete it in February.

Gasper River Habrá en Gasper River dos campamentos para jóvenes

grado, el campamento será de diciembre 29 – enero
1. El costo es solo $75. Entonces de enero 11 – enero 15,
habrá un Campamento para Jóvenes Adultos mayores de
18 años. El tema es “Quien es Mi Vecino” y el costo es

San Vicente de de Paul Nuestra Conferencia de SVdP quiere agradecer
muchísimo a todos en la parroquia que
contribuyeron al “Arbol de Regalos” este año.
Pudimos llevar el espíritu de Navidad a muchas
familias.
Pastorela en Bowling Green La pastorela es una dramatización acerca del
Nacimiento de Jesús en Belén. Fue usado por los
misioneros en América Latina en tiempos de la
colonización para comunicar el mensaje de Navidad
a los nativos. Es una tradición que se ha mantenido
en muchos lugares en los países Latinos,
especialmente en México. Continúa siendo una
forma efectiva de comunicar el Nacimiento del
Salvador y comunicar su amor entre nosotros. Este
Año Nuevo, primero de enero, tenemos nuestra
pastorela en el salón parroquial, después de la misa
de 12:30 pm. Usted está invitado a disfrutar de la
obra, villancicos, café y pan. Venga a compartir la
alegría de la Navidad.

El grupo Carismático de nuestra parroquia está
realizando la venta de boletos para una Rifa el
día 13 de febrero de 2012, el premio son 12
certificados de regalos de diferentes localidades
por $5.00 cada boleto; por favor ayúdenos con
esta oportunidad de recaudar fondos para la
Comunidad Hispana.

New Year's Eve Dance Make plans now for the Knights
of Columbus New Year's Eve
Dance. Elegant decorations,
noise makers, great hot and cold
Hors D'oeuvres all night long,
and our live band (Jenny Lu and
Klassic Krew) will help you
ring in the New Year in style.
Tickets are just $25 per person ($28 after 12/29) and are
available in person at the K of C Hall on Searcy Way. If
you are planning to reserve a table please get your

Sanctity of Life Chicken Dinner Benefit The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a chicken
dinner at their hall on Sunday, January 15, 2012. We
will be serving from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Menu is
baked or fried chicken, vegetables, rolls, and drinks.
Advance tickets are priced at $5.00 for adults and $3.00
for children ages three through ten. Tickets at the door
are $6.00 for adults and $3.50 for children. Desserts
will be available for a nominal fee. Advance tickets
will go on sale on January 2, 2012 and can be
purchased from Tom Parrott at 782-6777 or cell 791-
5926 or Paul McCavick 782-7573 or cell 438-8025. All
advance tickets must be purchased no later than Friday,
January 13. Checks for tickets should be made out to
Knights of Columbus and mailed to 911 Searcy Way,
Bowling Green, KY 42103. Please write “chicken
dinner tickets” in memo line.All proceeds will be divided
between Barren River Right to Life, the Pregnancy Support
Center, and Rachel’s Vineyard which is a Fathers of Mercy
ministry that provides retreats for post abortive women and
men. Your support will directly assist all three of the local
pro-life ministries in their life saving work.
