The Blessed Trinity
“How long does it take to get to heaven?” said the teacher.
“A week to 10 days,” answered the little girl.
“And how do you know?” asked the teacher.
“Well, Jesus ascended into heaven on Ascension Sunday and said He would send the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and it took a whole week for Him to get here!” responded the little girl.
Jesus said we would see greater things than what He did after the Holy Spirit came to earth. What have we seen? Hospitals, orphanages, and universities are just a few things that all came from the Catholic Church.
We feed more hungry people, tend to more sick people, and provide more social justice assistance than anyone else or any institution on the planet since the beginning of human history.
That’s a lot more than what Jesus did when He walked the earth, but, it is only because of you. You have become the hands, feet, and words of Jesus. Father Ronald Rohlheiser says, “And so when we act like God we get to feel like God.” You have become holy. Holiness is when something is used for a sacred purpose. I hope you are feeling your holiness. The people around you do.
S’panem Bohem! Go with God!
Fr. Rex Arnold
