PARISH LIFE
Sunday of Divine Mercy
First Reading: Acts 5:12-16
Second Reading: Revelation 1:9-11a,
12-13, 17-19
Gospel: John 20:19-31
Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord
First Reading: Acts 10:34a, 37-43
Second Reading: Colossians 3:1-4 OR
1 Corinthians 5:6b-8
Gospel: John 20:1-9 OR Luke 24:1-12 (41)
The resurrection of the Lord is the highest of all feasts
– the day in which we celebrate the truth that Jesus
conquers and redeems every darkness of life, even
death itself. Truly this is a day of rejoicing! For even
when events are unclear to us – when we do not
understand what we see before us, like those who saw
the empty tomb – we can be confident in the
words and promises of God.
Please Pray for the Repose of the Souls of
parishioners who have recently passed away.

Prayer for an End to Infanticide The U.S. Senate recently failed to pass the Born-Alive
Abortion Survivors Protection Act—legislation that prohibits infanticide by ensuring that a child born
alive following an attempted abortion would receive the same degree of care to preserve her or his life
and health as would be given to any other child born alive at the same gestational age. Please join us in
prayer for an end to infanticide: “Jesus, Lord of Life, transform the hearts of all
elected leaders to recognize that infanticide is wrong and must not be tolerated. Open hearts and minds to
recognize and defend the precious gift of every human life.”
EASTER SUNDAY He abolished death and bought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. -2 Tim 1:10 REFLECTION. Jesus Christ is Risen from the dead! Death has been conquered! Although death in its various forms continues to manifest itself in our world, it has been robbed of its power; it no longer has the final word in the human story. The pro-life movement does not simply work for victory, we work from victory. Victory is our starting point. We joyfully proclaim to the world that Christ is Risen, and for this reason we must choose life. Prayer. Risen Lord, fill me with joy this day. May I defend life, knowing that victory has already been placed in our hands, for You are alive forevermore. Allelula! Ed Cecil, Respect Life Committee (Pro-Life Reflections for Everyday)
Support our Saint James Rosary Guild The Saint James Rosary Guild has First Communion rosaries for sale

A Message from the Finance Council Growth in a parish is truly a blessing. We can easily see many exciting things occurring now
and over the past several years at Saint James Catholic Church and Saint James Catholic School. However, with this growth brings opportunities and challenges, especially as large facilities are constructed and maintained due to our parish expansion. As a large Catholic Church, we want to be fully engaged in understanding all the aspects of the ministries of Saint James Parish and School including the impact on our finances. To help with this, the Finance Council will be publishing a more detailed report of the Parish finances quarterly. This report will be in the format of the annual accountability report distributed each year. The weekly collections will be displayed on the remaining weeks of the month. The hope is the better informed we are, the better we can work through these exciting and challenging times together. Thanks to the diligent efforts and contributions of parishioners of previous generations, our Parish has certainly prospered through previous times of expansion. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we will certainly flourish through this phase doing our part to sustain the long-standing traditions and paving the way for future generations of Saint James Parishioners.
God Bless!
