Becoming our Best Selves One Step at a Time
This morning I started a new tube of toothpaste. As I
pulled it out of the box, my mind drifted back seventy
years or so, to a time when that box always magically
turned into a bus. I loved driving that bus on the green
“road” that circled the top of our kitchen table. Some-
times I drove the city streets, taking people shopping or
to work. Other times I drove Highway 41, driving people
to visit relatives or go on vacation.
Eventually, I tired of that and drove the bus to Brooklyn,
where I temporarily gave up my driving job so I could
lead the Dodgers to a World Series title. I was their top
hitter, of course. I played entire seasons by rolling two
dice. The larger number was my at bats in a game, and
the smaller number was my hits. I hit over .400 most
seasons. I was also a Cy Young Award pitcher. I played
twenty-year-long careers by rolling dice. My wins for a
season were figured by rolling five dice and adding
them up. My losses came from rolling two dice and add-
ing them up. (Hey! It was my game -- I made the rules!)
You know what? I had as much fun thinking back to
those days as I had living them. It made the rest of the
day brighter and made me behave myself better. What
a beautifully simple way to become a new and im-
proved version of ourselves.
Roger LeBouton, Lay Minister

UPDATE!
This year has really seen many changes...now
another one for us! The St. Jude Craft & Bake
Sale, October 3, 2020, will be cancelled for this
year. It is with much sadness to have to do this,
but it is the best thing to do for now. We are so
sorry. Let’s look more forward to next year.
Thank you.

ST. JUDE THE APOSTLE PARISH PRAYER NETWORK
We believe that prayer is very
powerful. We believe that when
we ask in the name of Jesus
Christ, the Father always an-
swers. The answer may not be
the one we think we want, but
through God’s infinite wisdom
the answer is provided in ways
that respect the gift of freewill
that God bestowed on humankind from the beginning.
We believe in accordance with the teaching of our
Savior, Jesus Christ, that the prayers and actions of the
Christian Community are stronger than those of an indi-
vidual. With this in mind, we at St. Jude have joined
together to form a prayer network.
Anyone can call the group leaders or other prayer net-
work members with a prayer request. The prayer request
is phoned to other members using a chain whereby no
one member need call more than two people.
Prayer requests can be for many reasons including:
health issues, employment concerns, relief from family
and social stresses, bereavement concerns and thanks
for God’s blessings. The options for prayer are bound-
less.
If you would like to join the prayer network or if you
have a prayer request call Paulette or Jim at 920-688-
3237 or the parish office, 235-7412.
COMMUNION SERVICE ON SUNDAYS FROM NOON TO 12:15 PM
We know that while many are able to attend Mass
again there are some that do not feel comfortable
yet. If you are unable to attend Mass due to health
related concerns we welcome you to come to the
Communion Service at Sacred Heart.
Living the Gospel—Matching Gift Challenge: An Opportunity to show Love of God and Neighbor at St. Jude
MATCHING GIFT CHALLENGE: You donate $1, St. Jude matches that $1 so $2 is donated; you donate
$100, St. Jude donates another $100 to match yours—I think you get the idea! Whatever is donated will
be doubled – UP TO A TOTAL MATCH OF $15,000! The monies raised will be equally split among 3 organi-
zations: Father Carr’s Food Pantry, the Warming Shelter, and the Christine Ann Center. We could viably do-
nate $10,000 to each organization; just think how many hungry we will feed, naked we will clothe. Dona-
tions can be sent to, or dropped off at, the Parish Office with the Memo: Living the Gospel.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for
Me.“ ~Matthew 25:40 So far we have raised: $12,990!
Sacred Heart Church is open
Monday & Friday from 8 am
until 2:30 pm and Tuesday
thru Thursday from 8 am to
4 pm for personal and private prayer.
Please allow for safe social distancing as
recommended by State Officials.

Reminders for Weekend Mass
As we continue to gather together in community it is
extremely important to keep not only your own safety,
but also the safety of others mind.
• Please enter either church through the handi-
capped accessible entrances or the main double
doors.
• Upon arrival to the church your temperature will be
checked to ensure you do not have a temperature
of 100.4 degrees or higher.
• Use hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the
building. Keep those hands clean!
• Worship Aids are new at every mass. The Diocese
of Green Bay approved our use of them as long as
they are one time use.
• We are continuing to use the collection baskets
with long handles. There are some parishes that do
not have this option and instead are using boxes at
the entrance. It is preferred to have the offertory
collection during the Mass instead of after.
HEALING PRAYER Loving God, amid all the troubling news of the
world, thank you for the good news of the Gospel.
Amid the fear of foreigners, thank you for helping
us welcome strangers. In the hectic race for
wealth, thank you for opening us to the joys of
sharing and of serving others. Amid the pain of sin
and brokenness, thank you for helping us to be
compassionate healers. When we are tempted to
think violence is the only way to reach our goals,
we thank you for guiding us into ways of peace
and reconciliation.
~Amen
