FOR THE RIDE HOME First Reading: Proverbs 8: 22-31 Second Reading: Romans 5: 1-5 Gospel: John 16: 12-15 Today's gospel continues with Jesus' advice and instructions to the disciples at the Last Supper. He promises that the Spirit will be there to guide his follow-ers to the truth. The Spirit will speak in Jesus' name, just as Jesus speaks in the Father's name. Each of these three Persons in one God belongs to the other. We call this mystery of God's identity the Blessed Trinity.
We often use a triangle as a symbol for the Trinity. Each side is equal, and each of the three sides makes one triangle. In the Trinity, all three Persons (Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit) are equal. Each one is God, yet one is not "more God" than the other. Together, they are one God. Saint Patrick used a shamrock to describe the
Trinity. A shamrock is one plant with three leaves. Can
you think of or design a symbol or sign that helps you relate to the Trinity?

Join Us With Mary When life got overwhelming and too big for us as children, we turned to our mother for support and guidance. As adults, we thank her for all she had done for us. Now we are blessed with the opportuni-ty to turn to our Heavenly Mother Mary to ask for her support and guidance, and thank her for the many blessings she has given us. Every Wednesday after 9:00 AM mass (at 9:30), you are invited to join us as we pray the rosary to ask for her help and guidance and to thank her for her abounding love.

“Mercy is the force that reawakens us to new life and instills in us the courage to look to the future with hope” - Pope Francis
**One Faith, Family and Community is the theme around which we are sharing the inspiring story of the Catholic Ministries Appeal. **As One Faith Family, we are called as a community to show mercy to others as Pope Francis has asked us to do in this extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy. **Supporting the Catholic Ministries Appeal gives each of us a remarkable opportunity to “show mercy to others” and touch the lives of so many who are in our family of faith and in our community—a neighbor in need of food or shelter, a young man or woman finding their way to God through our youth or campus ministry programs, or a deacon or seminarian studying to serve in our Diocese.
Did you know because of the Catholic Ministries Appeal last
year…. We delivered or served more than 550,000 meals to senior
citizens and young families. Parish outreach centers, including our food pantries, assisted
more than 100,000 families. Our Office of Hospital Ministry served more than 300,000
people in local hospitals. 12,000 volunteer Catechists taught Religious Education to
more than 110,000 of our children in public schools. In our 133 Parishes there were more than 17,000 Baptisms,
17,000 First Communions, 19,000 Confirmations and 3,000
Weddings. We provided safe and affordable housing for struggling
seniors through 15 housing facilities with more than 1,200
affordable apartments. Our parish received a cash rebate of more than $10,000
which helped to offset expenses needed to maintain our
building and to fund the many programs we offer. Please consider making a pledge to this most worthy charity.
We need the help of every parish family to reach our goal of
$50,800. You have until January 31, 2017 to pay off your pledge.
No down payment is necessary. The Diocese will send monthly
reminders. Keep in mind this is not a legal document. If you feel
you cannot keep up your payments, simply discontinue them.
To help you decide here are some suggested gift plans: **$100 pledge—$10 per month, ** $50 pledge—$5 per month
**One time payment = $20.00
Whatever you are able to give, large or small, will be accepted
gratefully. Please keep in mind your gift is payable over ten
months.
To make a pledge, simply fill out the form below and place it in
the collection basket or mail it back to the parish office.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Another year of wonderful, up-lifting liturgies graced our parish these past two weekends. None of this is possible without the assistance of so many who offered numerous hours of their lives to help us celebrate. We express our gratitude and appreciation to:
Isabella Fitzpatrick, Communion Coordinator and the First Communion catechists:
Skylar Bennett, Ellen DelBroccolo, Diana Erickson, Amanda Kelly, Liz Macchio, John and Lenore Myers, Bonnie Page, Marie Quick, and Vera Tsamados. We also thank ~~~ the ministers of the Mass: our Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Altar Servers and Musicians for giving your time to serve at each celebration. A special note of appreciation to our Catechists and 7th grade Faith Buddies who ushered, greeted and guided each rehearsal and liturgy with a welcoming spirit. To Fr. Dan who’s presence welcomed our young people and their Parents to each celebration, we express our gratitude. This year we also had assistance at these liturgies from Deacons Dave and John so we offer a note of thanks to them for being with us too. Last but not least, a very special word of gratitude to Barbara Wells, our Religious Formation Secretary, for all the “behind the scenes” details that she lovingly and beautifully carries out for the program and all our Sacramental events each year.
We, as a parish, are grateful and joyful each year to witness to our young people’s initiation to the Table of the Lord for their very first time. We
pray that their families will continue to be with us each weekend.
Gratefully~~~Michele Hahn
