PARISH UPDATES

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all new

parishioners and visitors to our church! We hope you enjoy your stay and if you would like to join our family here at St. Cecilia Parish we invite you to be-

come a registered parishioner. Please stop by the Parish Office during the week to fill

out a registration form, or register online at www.saintcparish.org

If you would like to receive the sacraments of Reconcil-iation, Anointing, or Holy Eucharist, please contact Fr. Mark at [email protected] to make an appointment.

When you visit St. Cecilia, please wear a cloth face mask. The CDC says everyone should wear a cloth face mask when out in public to protect others. Remember to keep 6 feet between yourselves and others, even if you are wearing a mask. Do you need a mask? Parish volunteers have graciously donated masks they have made to the parish for distribution as needed. Keep Fr. Mark healthy! (And yourselves, too!)

Mass will be live streamed as follows:

Monday, Wednesday - Friday @ 9:00 am

Saturday Vigil Mass @ 5:00 pm

What to - A Cautious Return to Mass -

Expect

Archbishop Etienne and Fr. Mark strongly encourage all who may be in the high risk

category for COVID-19 to continue to participate in the Mass from the safety of

their homes until we reach Phase 4.

The Dispensation From Obligation to Attend Sunday Mass

remains in effect for everyone.

For now, attending Mass will look a bit different:

• All people are required to wear a face mask and observe social distancing of at least 6 feet while on church property

• A maximum of 50 people will be allowed in the church, so reservations will be necessary

• Greeters will check-in Mass attendees, who will then be directed to seats by an usher

• There will be instrumental music only • Communion will be distributed after the Mass

We are taking careful precautions to protect our parishioners, but we cannot guarantee a 100%

risk free environment. Please do what is best for you and your family.

Welcome Back to Mass! June 13 & 14, 2020 Reservations for Mass at 5:00 pm Saturday, 8:00 am and 10:00 am on Sunday can be made online via the

parish website www.saintcparish.org or by phone at206-842-3594, Monday through Thursday. Mass confirmations will be communicated on Friday.

RETURN TO MASS INFO

How will I reserve a spot to attend Mass?

Reservations for weekend Masses will be available Monday through Thursday beginning June 8, 2020, online or by phone. Go to the parish website www.saintcparish.org and find the “MASS RSVP” button. Click on the button and complete the reservation form. If you do not have access to a computer, call the Parish Office at 206-842-3594 and we will assist you. We will communicate with you via email or phone call on Friday to confirm your Mass time.

How many people can I make a reservation for?

You can make a reservation for yourself and any family members living in your household. Please do not make a reservation for anyone outside your household.

Do I need to arrive early?

Yes! Please arrive 15 MINUTES before Mass begins to facilitate our check in process.

What will the check in process look like?

Attendees will enter the church through the right side (closest to Conger Hall), and the walkway will be marked off in 6-foot sections to help everyone maintain a social distance. A greeter will check that your name is on the list for the Mass you are attending, and then an usher will direct you to your seat. Seating will be arranged to maximize social distance; household members will sit together.

How will the Mass be different than before COVID-19?

Mass will look a little different. There will only be instrumental music; no singing. There will be no missals or publications available as we want to keep contact surfaces to a minimum. Communion will be distributed as you leave the church after Mass is over.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Yes! Masks are always required on church grounds. If you do not have a cloth face mask, the church can provide you with one.

What is being done to prevent COVID-19 in the church?

We are doing our best to minimize the risk of COVID-19 at church, but we cannot offer a 100% guarantee. The church is cleaned on a regular basis, and we will have volunteers to clean the pews and bathrooms between the Masses. Windows and doors will be open to allow for plenty of fresh air and ventilation.

Can I attend Mass even if I am in the high-risk population for COVID-19?

The Dispensation from the Obligation to Attend Sunday Mass remains in effect for everyone. Archbishop Etienne and Fr. Mark ask that if you are in a high-risk group, or if you are in any way uncomfortable being at the Mass, that you continue to watch Mass at home online until Phase 4 begins.

Some final notes:

IF YOUR ANSWER IS "YES" TO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS, PLEASE STAY HOME!

In the last 14 days, have you:

• Traveled internationally?

• Been exposed to a person with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 without the correct PPE?

• Had a temperature at least 100.0° F?

• Had new or increased shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?

• Had a new cough?

• Had at least two of the following symptoms together: Chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss

of taste or smell?

Thank you for your patience as we navigate the resumption of public Mass.

FAITH FORMATION AND SAINT CECILIA CATHOLIC SCHOOL

SCCS Parents

Our families hit the ground running on

Monday, March 16th when the Stay Home, Stay Safe

mandate took effect. Parents immediately began

guiding their children in our distance learning program.

They embraced our goal for School at Home -

Learning is Happening.

As we finish up our 13th and final week, we

applaud our parents for their perseverance, humor,

flexibility, and deep commitment to their children.

Two weeks into School at Home Jessica

Mellon, the mother of a Pre-K student, a 1st grader, and

a 6-month old baby, wrote the following recommenda-

tion for SCCS on social media:

“Saint Cecilia Catholic School provides a warm environ-

ment with high academic standards. The teaching faculty

and principal are all invested in both our children’s

educational and emotional development. The community

as SCCS has become an extension of our family. I

would highly recommend this school to anyone.”

Our capacity to create and sustain a caring, re-

spectful environment rich in academics, rooted in faith

is the direct result of the home environments of our

families. Throughout this period of change and

challenge, our parents modeled our mission for their

children: to live our faith, to grow our minds, and to

serve others.

With deep gratitude,

Susan Kilbane

Mark your calendars for July 20 – 24 for St. Cecilia Vacation Bible Camp! We are not quite sure what VBC will look like this summer, but we do plan to

have it - on site or online!

We welcome yet another member to our St. Cecilia Community! Our SCCS PreK Teacher Assistant Mrs. Yulianna De Luna and her husband are the proud parents of Valeria Lepe. Congratulations!

PREP student Tilly honors the Blessed Virgin Mary!
