———CALENDAR OF THE WEEK——— !! Dear Parishioners and Visitors,
! I want to take this opportunity to highlight
two events coming up this week, both on the same day—Wednesday, June 27. During the day, from 10 until 3 is the first youth outing of the summer—an end of the school year picnic open to all middle school and high school students at Greenwood Park, in conjunction with all the parishes of the area. What you might not know is that we now have a “Youth Bulletin Board” where info and permission slips can be picked up. At OLGC, it is located just outside the rectory office door on Grippen St., and at St. Ambrose, youth info can be picked up on the long bulletin board in the gathering space at the Washington Ave. entrance. Secondly, that night, a very entertaining and spirit-ually deep couple, Chris and Linda Padgett—(Chris might be known to our kids since he often appears at the National Catholic Youth Conference)—is coming to run a fun and meaningful “date night” for married couples in the Atrium at OLGC. See the bulletin for registration info, but for $40 per couple, you can enjoy dinner, have some laughs togeth-er and hopefully rekindle communication and joy as cou-ples. I am personally pushing this among our married cou-ples married 15 years or less because I want you to meet each other. I want you to know that there are many couples in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who attend Mass regularly, have school-aged kids, and might be able to be a source of friendship and support in your lives and in our community. Please, if you fit this category, consider going, and if you don’t, please strongly invite, encourage, even offer to babysit or pay for our couples to attend. It will be well worth it! God bless, Fr. Michael

your health care provider. NYS residents are eligible to
receive free breast cancer screenings if you do not have

served 7 people. The Van and Clinicians were very
good. They made you feel at ease, comfortable & were
very organized.
Our cupboards are getting low and we are in need of
many of our staple items.
This is especially true because
summer is approaching and
our donations usually go down during the summer months
whereas our needs go up. If you are able please donate any
of the following items: Cereal, Juice, Fruit, Tuna, Pasta
Sauce & Pasta Products, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Soup,
Potatoes, Vegetables, Baked beans, Mac & Cheese. If
you would like to donate coupons to help purchase items
for food pantry. Place coupons in the plastic holder on the
wall outside of the food pantry. If you don’t use the inserts
it is best to leave coupons intact and not clipped. Any help
is appreciated. Thank You!
Soup Kitchen: One of our Parish Family donates Eggs
weekly to our OLGC Soup Kitchen participants. If you
have any empty egg cartons (12 count) you would like
to donate we would surely appreciate them to help de-
fray their donation cost. Cartons can be left in OLGC
kitchen area. We continue to need your donations but I
wish to commend you for your generous donations so far.
We have several teams who are in need of new volun-
teers. If you are interested in volunteering please call

Please Note
Sincere Congratulations and Best Wishes to all OLGC & St. Ambrose High School and Col-lege Graduates. Our prayers and support go with you on the next step of life’s journey. May you grow in the ways of the Lord as you grow in the ways of His world.
Our Sunday Bulletin is the primary way we com-
municate with our parish members. Through arrangement
with Liturgical Publications, the parish does not pay for the
bulletin printing, which saves us thousands of dollars each
year. Our bulletin is supported through the generosity of
the advertisers, many of whom are our own parish members
or members of the local community. We urge you to sup-
port our advertisers with your patronage. Tell the business
owner that you appreciate their support of our parish
through their advertising in our bulletin. This is one way
we can work to create a vibrant community. A strong, en-
gaged parish is good for our community and a strong busi-
ness community is good for our parish.

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE from
the Office of Family Life Education (A
Hope Appeal Agency)
The question in today’s gospel, “What will
this child be?” concerns all parents. We spend years try-
ing to influence and shape the answer, hoping our children
will be “strong in spirit”, like the Baptist, and “blessing
God” like Zachariah.
