PREFACE

The main objective of ‘Sahayogi Mahila’ was to social and economical

development and connect the people in the lower rung of society to the main

stream and their development. From the very beginning the organization is

determined and has been fulfilling its role in this direction.

It gives me great pleasure in presenting the annual report as a recorded

statement and document of the organization for the year 2014-15 and to state

that in the past one year we have fulfilled and achieved our targeted goals.

The farmers of twenty five villages in seven panchayats of Rajnagar Block have

been connected by ATMA Project. Distribution of free paddy seeds by ‘Shrinidhi’

and providing 50% subsidy have helped the farmers in improved productivity as

well as their financial condition.

The ‘NABARD’ Project is aiding the women’s self-help groups in developing social,

financial and political awareness. The total 269 self-help groups have been

formed during the year 2014-15 and linked with banks to provide loan which has

helped the groups in becoming financially independent.

Sustainable and qualitative crops have become the need of the today. Chemical

fertilizers are affecting the cultivable lands; hence 170 farmers have been

connected to organic farming with help from Organic Farming Authority of

Jharkhand (OFAJ). In addition to this, they have aligned themselves with

“Aushadhi Mission” and “Masala Mission” which has helped them in earning

more profits from their crops.

During the year 2014-15, Arjun tree saplings have been planted in about twenty

hectares of land, courtesy, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), which

has provided encouragement to the people to cultivate tassar and silk under this

project.

Empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions under decentralized system is the

first precondition. In order to strengthen the Gram Sabhas of 14 villages, the

society has connected two panchayats, Bandu and Jumal of Rajnagar block under

Seraikella – Kharsawan district by providing training, exposure, district–state

interface meeting etc. with help from Centre for World Solidarity, Secunderabad.

The Soci-Eco condition of primitive tribes in our society is in a pitiable condition.

With the cooperation of Jharkhand Education Project, Seraikella, 126 girls, in the

age group of 6 to 14, belonging to the Pahadia and Sabar tribes are being

provided with quality residential education under “Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan” along

with life skills and other training.

Finally, I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to all the donor agencies, members

of the executive board, the Mukhiya of the local PRI, the village headman (Gram

Pradhan), residents of the village, the cooperating women, well-wishers and all

workers whose invaluable support has helped us to achieve not only our target of

2014-15 but also have tried to provide a positive direction to the society.
