Dear Friends,

I would like to start my message by wishing all the readers of Sagar & their families a very happy new year 2013. I hope the New Year brings joy & happiness to each one of you.

The DK Jain group celebrated November 18, 2012, the birthday of my late father and our Chairman Emeritus Shri Sagar Chand Jain, as Founder’s day. On this day, we pledge to walk on the path shown by him and follow his principles. Unfortunately, he left for his heavenly abode on December 31, 2009 and December 31, 2012 was his third death anniversary, I would request all of you to pray for his kind soul.

Past three quarters of the current financial year have been rather tough for the global economy, the Indian Economy and the Indian Automobile Industry in particular. The Indian Economic growth is now pegged around 5.5% versus the estimate of around 8% in the beginning of the year. For the Indian Automobile Industry, the festive season in Q3 also failed to trigger any excitement. The third quarter of financial year 2012-13, continued to be under pressure with the total industry registered a 2% growth, with passenger vehicles registering 11%, two wheelers have 1% respectively.

The DK Jain group also registered a top line growth of 11%, with our flagship company, Lumax Industries Limited posting a growth of 13 %.

Friends, the going is tough, however it is when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. We need to take all possible measures to keep afloat these tough times. I believe all of us are leaders at various levels and best equipped to closely monitor the situation and take decisions accordingly.

We need to evaluate each and every aspect of our business from procurement, production, quality to delivery. Innovation is the need of the hour, we need to think out of the box and come out with winning ideas to face these challenging times. Any new investment or recruitment should be debated and deliberated before going ahead. We need to make sure our existing resources are utilized to the fullest.

I would like all the plants to emphasis & focus on expediting TPM activities in their plants. We need to focus on implementing the fundamentals of TPM activities by classifying & reducing the major losses to have a better focus on profits.

Friends, it is my belief that the worst is behind us and the New Year shall bring in a lot of positivity and excitement to our business. We need to stand together as a team and I am sure we all will put in our best efforts to sail these tough times. We have done it in the past and I am sure we shall do it this time as well.

I am glad to inform that the Lumax Industries plant at Bidadi (Bangalore) is fully operational and has started supplies to our esteemed customer TOYOTA. I wish to congratulate the concerned team.

In order to strengthen our group’s presence Pan-India and to serve our customers better, Lumax Auto Technologies is opening up a new green field plant in Narasapura, Karnataka. I am sure the team will take all measures to make this a state of the art plant. I wish them all the very best.

In our quest for diversification, I am pleased to inform you that the new venture of the group in Automobile Accessories has kick started and we have procured orders from OEMs on certain products. I believe this business has a huge potential and I wish to congratulate the team in this new business venture.

At the end, I would like all of us to pray for the departed soul of the girl “NIRBHAYA” who was brutally molested and murdered. I urge all of us to stand by this movement through out the nation to make our country a safe place for women.

The Western Region ORM was held on •December 17, 2012 at Pune.

The Northern Region ORM was held on •December 19, 2012 at New Delhi.

Lumax Industries Ltd, Bangalore has successfully started its operations from the new plant located at Bidadi Industrial area, from August 2012. This plant has a strength of 100 employees approx and it manufactures lightings, gear shifters and supplies to Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited, Bidadi, for their Etios and Liva vehicles.

This plant has implemented TPS concept right from the planning stage till the establishment of the production lines with the guidance of TKM CFT. Apart from Toyota, this plant will be supplying to HMSI for two wheeler lightings as well as to the southern customers in future.

Lumax Auto Technologies Ltd. has opened a new green field plant at Narasapura, (Kolar dist., Karnataka) to supply two wheeler automotive parts to HMSI. In this connection, Mahindroo San (Director Purchase) and Tsuji San (global Purchase) head from HMSI visited LATL, Narasapura Plant, on December 18, 2012 to review the plant readiness.
