Digital Curriculum Map – Topography by Subject
The Safford Unified School District (SUSD) Digital Citizenship Curriculum is compiled
and presented grouped by subject matter and grade level. Within each grade level there are
required and supplemental lessons. It is suggested that the required lessons be taught within the
first quarter of the school year, and the supplemental lessons as desired throughout the remaining
three quarters.
Each unit is broken into five lessons. There are three units for each grade level group—
K-2, 3-5, and 6-8, and four units for grade level group 9-12.
Considering the fact that the curriculum subject matter revolves around the responsible
use of technology, it is recommended that instructors prepare their classroom environment with
the necessary tools—computers, iPads, etc.—and other Internet connected devices. A significant
part of instruction also includes showing short videos, so instructors should have technology in
place to facilitate that as well.
Following is a topography of the curriculum arranged by subject and grade level groups.
