1. My Safety Minute Every worker or employee has three basic
rights. They should know all of them and make sure they are
following them and not making bad decisions because this is their
first job or if they are hoping to please their employer. Every
employer has the responsibility to make sure that all of their
employees know how to properly and safely do their jobs.
2. #1: The Right To Know Everyone has the right to know all of
the hazards that they are exposed to on the job. It is the
employers job to make sure that all of their employees know the
hazards that they, or their coworker, may face.
3. #2: The Right To Speak Up If someone is ever unsure or
doesn't know what to do or how to use something, they have the
right to ask. It is their right to speak up and ask for directions
and training. They should also give time to prove that they know
the task before having to do it alone.
4. #3: The Right To Refuse If someone is ever given a unsafe
task or a task that isn't clear, they have the right to refuse to
complete the task.
5. Responsibilities Everyone also has responsibilities that
they should follow such as; following safety procedures, asking for
proper training, using protective equipment and identifying
