SafeSign IC Minidriver for Windows Smart card logon for system and network SafeSign Identity Client (IC) allows users to intialise and use the token for encryption, authentication and digital signatures and includes all functionality necessary to use hardware tokens in a variety of PKI environments. Microsoft Windows With Windows Vista, Microsoft introduced an entirely new layered architecture for supporting smart cards: the Windows Smart Card Framework. Windows Vista integrates functions dedicated to smart card management, such as Smart Card Base CSP and KSP. Microsoft also introduced Crypto API Next Generation (CNG). The link between Windows Vista/7/8/10 and smart cards must be provided by a Mini- driver (middleware), which is especially designed to Microsoft specifications. The SafeSign IC Minidriver completes the SafeSign IC portfolio, which further consists of the SafeSign CSP

and KSP, SafeSign PKCS#11 library and SafeSign applets. Depending on the required functionality and used

application either the SafeSign IC Minidriver or SafeSign IC CSP/KSP is used on the Windows platform.

The following features are supported by SafeSign IC Minidriver version 3.0:

• multiple token support;

• multiple OS support like Windows 10 and Server 2012 R2;

• multiple application support like web authentication, e-mail signing and decryption, document signing

and smart card logon.
