Safer Internet Day
This week we have recog-
nised Safer Internet Day by
inviting two representatives
from the police service into
school to speak with the chil-
dren. The officers gave a
presentation to children in KS1 and KS2 all
about the best ways to keep themselves safe
online and use the internet responsibly. Our
children were excellent at explaining all of the
different safety messages that they know and
use whilst surfing the web.
One of the top tips from our internet safety
learning was to ensure that children (and
adults!!) always follow the SMART Rules:
Internet Safety SMART Rules
Pirate FM Appeal
You may have heard that Pirate FM are running an appeal to gather together a
tonne of tinned foods? Their aim is simple - they want to raise awareness for the
Foodbanks across Cornwall (and beyond) and get as much donated tinned food
as possible. Figures have revealed that a rising number of struggling families are
relying on foodbanks in Cornwall. In this day and age, no-one should be forced to visit a foodbank but unfortu-
nately, more and more people are. That is the reality. The Foodbank are relying on the people of Cornwall more
than ever to be generous and make donations. A member of our staff has kindly offered to be a collector and
transporter for any donations made towards the appeal. If you would like to support the Tonne of Tins appeal, just
leave your tinned donations in the box in our Parent Waiting Shelter. Thank you for your support.
SEND Drop In Morning
On the morning of Wednesday 27th February, Mrs Davis is offering parents the opportunity to ‘drop in’ to have a
chat about all things Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). There’s no appointments needed and no
set agenda, it’s just an opportunity to have a discussion about any issues or concerns you may have. The session
will run from 9am until 1pm.
Cross Country News
A huge well done to the cross country runners for giving maximum effort and gaining some great results
at this Tuesday’s race. Yet again the weather was cold and damp but the children didn’t let this dampen
their determination. All of the children gave fantastic performances with several top places being
achieved and we’ve also heard that a very impressive number of children are now through to the finals!
Snow Day
Just a quick notice to say a big thank you for your understanding and patience regarding the school clo-
sure last week due to the weather and dangerous travelling conditions. Your support is much appreciated.

15th March - Year 5
22nd March - Year 6
29th March - Reception
5th April - Year 1
Maritime Museum Trip
This week the children in Year 1 and Year 2 headed off to the Maritime Museum in Falmouth. The children have
been learning all about what it would be like to live on an island as part of their topic. The children learned lots of
exciting new things for their topic and even got to meet a magical mermaid! The experiences from their trip to the
museum will certainly give the children lots to talk about back at school! A huge thank you to the parent helpers
for your support and to the Cornish Heritage Trust for providing funds towards our transport for the day. Thank you!
