The Safeglide 2 ensures durable and problem-free use. It is the safest and most reliable gate available and complies with the strictest safety requirements.

The safe use of automated sliding gates is more vital than ever. Automated gates are classified as machinery under the EU Machinery Directive (more details on legislation issues are on the back page of this brochure). Safeglide 2 puts safety and compliance as its main priority, followed by reliability and security. It is the only gate on the UK market to be wind-class-3 certified meaning it will work reliably, even in the most demanding of weather conditions.

The versatile design of the Safeglide 2 comprises of a portal frame with integral drive and a leaf featuring a bespoke profile Aircraft Grade aluminium bottom rail. Safeglide 2 is available in a variety of sizes and comes with a choice of infill options including welded-mesh (Pallas or Zenith), palisade and vertical bars to suit the majority of sites.

All Safeglide 2 gates are supplied fully built and tested to simplify on-site installation. Once a gate is installed, as part of Heras on-going commitment to safety, we also offer a free of charge installation safety and compliance check. Afterwhich a certificate of inspection will be issued to ensure complete peace of mind.

The Safeglide 2 control unit can be seamlessly integrated with all types of security equipment such as intercom systems ANPR electronic access control systems, and PIDS.

After installationOnce the gate is brought into use, any operation that causes or could cause injury to an individual can be prosecuted under UK criminal law.

Installers, businesses and owners are potentially liable under UK civil law as the result of an incident with an unsafe powered gate. Speak with Heras Service team to ensure that your gate is safe at all times.

LegislationAutomated gates are classified as machinery under the EU Machinery Directive. The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations, which brings the European Machinery Directive (currently 2006/42/EC) into UK criminal law, are primarily concerned with ensuring new and substantially modified powered gates are safe.

How Heras can helpThe Machinery Directive requires the Responsible Person (normally the manufacturer or another ‘deemed’ to be the manufacturer for the purposes of the directive) to ensure that:• a conformity assessment is carried out• the Essential Health and Safety Requirements in Annex 1 of the directive have been met• a technical file is compiled• user instructions and maintenance instructions

are provided to the operator• a Declaration of Conformity is issued • the gate is correctly CE marked
