SAE Events_March2015 As proposed by the club, we had planned 4 events between 14 th of March to 20 th of March. Below are the details of various events under the club. The report would give you an insight of how everything went and how it affected the participants. PRE-ORIENTATION (14 th March 2015) This event introduced the Club and the Society to the 2 nd and 1 st year people. They were told about different events under the club and society. They were also told about the benefits of joining the club. We mentioned some of our past achievements by sharing our story to them. The event saw a healthy crowd of about 200 people in Nanaji Deshmukh Seminar Hall. At the end of the seminar we offered them the club membership form. The membership form pack is worth Rs 50, which includes a membership form and a booklet related to basics of automobile. We got a good response over the pre-orientation session as about 50 forms were sold out on the spot. Soon we are going to launch our membership drive as well. We expect more in coming days from the students present there. The pre-orientation session saw the presence of revered dignitaries. Dr RS Tomar (Dean SOET), Dr RK Chaturvedi (Dean Student’s Welfare), Dr RK Jain, Dr Anshul Gangele were among the present dignitaries in the event. Respected faculties from Department of Mechanical Engineering also showed their presence in the session. The club is overwhelmed to have such a great response from the Dignitaries and faculty members. AUTO-QUIZ 2 (17 th -18 th March 2015) This event was basically a quiz contest based on automotive knowledge. The event was planned for 2 days. First day’s event was held at Har Govind Khurana Block, ITM Universe campus (3pm onwards). About 60 teams participated in the event, with approximately 4 members in each team. There were 2 rounds organised on the first day. The first round was a written round in which 35 questions were to be answered in 30 minutes. 35 teams were to be selected for the next round. In the mean time we gave time to people from EII (Engineer’s Institute of India) who were our sponsors, to promote them. They were give a time slot of 15 minutes. Next round was a visual round, 35 teams fought between themselves and only 18 teams could qualify for the next day’s event. This was the end of day1. The next day’s events started at 11pm sharp in the Seminar Hall of Leonardo da Vinci block, ITM University campus. 3 rd round was a rapid fire round, in which each team were given 90 seconds to answer questions. 8 teams qualified for the fourth round. 4 th round was a visual round as well, each teams were asked two questions. 4 teams qualified for the final round. Coincidently the four teams were from different year of study. The final round was a chit round, each team had to select a chit and answer the questions based on the section written in the chit. Team from RJIT got the first prize, which included cash prize of Rs 7000 and certificate of Merit. Second prize was won by team from ITM University getting a cash prize of Rs 3000 and certificate of Merit. Team from MITS won the third prize which included a cash prize of Rs 1000 and certificate of Merit. Prizes were distributed by club’s faculty advisors, Dr Anshul Gangele and Arun Kushwaha. People who could not win any prize went with beautiful memories. They were amazed to learn new things in the automotive world. People have lots of expectations for coming days.

Vehicle Demonstration (20th March 2015)

In this event we explained people about different elements of a basic automobile. We virtually

demonstrate the vehicles which has been manufactured under the Club.

Around 70 people showed up for the event. After the end of the event we had a query session in

which we answered all possible questions of the participants.

The students present there got a basic knowledge of different parts and elements of automobile.

Motivational Session (20th March 2015)

After the end of Vehicle demonstration session, we welcomed a guest speaker (Mr Manoj Dawrani).

He also happened to be our sponsor for the event. He spoke about his life experiences and about the

facts which are affecting our lives. He spoke about the purpose of purpose and that one should

follow their dreams not just follow others.

The session proved to be very fruitful one, about 120 people attended the session. People present in

the session were very much moved and found out a different way of looking at things around them.

Innovation Summit (20th March 2015)

In this event would welcomed people having new and innovative ideas in the Automotive field or

area of their interest. 10 teams competed in the event held at Nanaji Deshmukh Seminar Hall. Teams

submitted a poster explaining their ideas as well as they had to present their idea using PowerPoint

slides as well. It tested their technical grasp over the topic as well as their presentation skills.

The event was Judged by Dr. Archna Kansal and Dr. Anshul Gangele primarily.

Prize distribution ceremony saw the presence of revered dignitaries, Dr RS Tomar (Dean SOET), Dr

RK Chaturvedi (Dean Student’s Welfare) and Dr Anshul Gangele.

Top three teams were given certifications and medals.

Completion of this event marked the end of this season of SAE Events 2015. We tried to do

everything in the best possible way. We tried to focus primarily on the benefit of people

participating in events and tried to provide them with opportunities. Although, we accept that things

could have been done in a lot better way. We do promise that the next season would be a lot better

one.

At last, the club would like to thank you for your generous support to us since the inception of this

club. Without your support we could not have reached this far. We expect your guidance in near

future and beyond as well.
