Dr. B.K. Jain, Director & Trustee, Shri Sadguru Seva

Sangh Trust, Chitrakoot was honoured with Excellence

in Ophthalmology Award for his extraordinary

contribution in promoting MSICS (Manual Small

Incision Cataract Surgery) which was presented at the

International Society of Manual Small Incision

Cataract Surgeons & HelpMeSee Awards Night at

Chennai on December 01, 2017.

41st M.P. State Conference of Ophthalmology was

held in Gwalior, on 6th – 8th October, 2017. Dr

Bhushan Ghodke received the award for Best

paper in Pediatric Ophthalmology, Dr Sangeeta

Kumari received the award for Best paper in

Oculoplasty, Dr Saumya Haldar was awarded for

Best Paper in Cataract session and Dr. Rakesh

Shakya was awarded Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh

award for Best Surgical Video.

World Sight Day – 12th Oct. 2017

18th Annual World Sight Day was celebrated on

12th October, 2017 at Sadguru Netra

Chikitsalaya, Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust,

Chitrakoot under the guidance of Dr. B k Jain,

Director and Trustee of SSSST, Chitrakoot.

Dr Elesh Jain, Administrator, in his inspiring

speech offered shraddhanjali to surgeons who

played a major role in Tara Netra Daan Yagya

since 1950. A quiz competition was organized

among the staff members of Sadguru family.

Winners of the Quiz competition were awarded prizes.

Training Workshop On Treatment Of Glaucoma – 13th-14th Oct. 2017

Training workshop on early diagnosis and

treatment of Glaucoma was conducted on 13th and

14th October 2017, for district Ophthalmologists un-

der the ‘National programme for control of

blindness’ at Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, Shri

The 100th Tara Netra Daan Yagya was

inaugurated with great enthusiasm and joy at

Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust, Chitrakoot.

visited Regional Eye Associates Hospital,

Morgantown, West Virginia, U.S.A. where he

interacted with Dr. V. K. Raju & Dr. Stephen R.

Powell. Dr. Shakya also attended a conference

held from 9th-14th November 2017 at

@American Academy of Opthalmology (AAO),

New Orleans, U.S.A. to learn latest techniques

& technology of Surgery & implement them in

Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, Chitrakoot.

Dr. Promila Gupta, Dy. Director General

(Ophthalmology) National Programme for Control

of Blindness in Directorate General of Health

Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

visited Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, SSSST,

Chitrakoot. Dr.Gupta was felicitated by Dr. B. K.

Jain, Director & Trustee of SSSST. Furthermore,

Dr. Gupta also visited our Karvi Vision Centre.

Dr. Shakya’s Comprehensive Cataract Conference Visit– 1st-3rd Dec. 2017

The International Society of Manual Small Incision

Cataract Surgeons (ISMSICS) held the Comprehensive

Cataract Conference 2017 and second World Conference

on MSICS at the ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. Dr.

Rakesh Shakya, Head, Glaucoma Department, Sadguru

Netra Chikitsalaya, Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust,

Chitrakoot delivered a talk and performed a live

surgery at Aravind Eye Hospital which was highly

appreciated by the audience.

4th World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus

conference was held from 1st – 3rd December 2017 in Hyderabad.

Dr. Pradhnya Sen, Head of Department, Paediatrics & Strabis-

mus, Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, SSSST, Chitrakoot, was mod-

erator at poster village and presented a case in Orthotics work-

shop two: Get your hands and minds – on,” in handling your Pae-

diatric work up.”

New Delhi visited Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh

Trust, Chitrakoot for CME conducted

by Cipla Ltd. Dr. Rajendra Prasad delivered his

talk on Terminal Chop (an alternative to deal

with Hard Cataract) and HI- dissect (a different

technique to deal with Posterior Polar Cataract).

Dr. Rajendra Prasad was overwhelmed by seeing

the various productive work done by the Trust.

World Aids Day was celebrated at Jankikund

Chikitsalaya, Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust,

Chitrakoot by organising an awareness programme

which was attended by doctors, Para- medical staff

& Nursing Staff. A Small skit was enacted by

Nursing Students which explained the causes and

prevention of HIV / AIDS.

Sadguru Mahotsav Cultural Program was performed by students of

Vidhyadham School of Sadguru Shiksha Samiti at Shri Sadguru Seva

Sangh Trust, Chitrakoot on the occasion of Golden Jubilee year and 100th

Tara Netra Daan Yagya. Students performed folk dances and plays based

on the theme “beti bachao” which was well received by the audience.

Cultural Programme By Vidyadham Vidyalaya - 25th Oct. 2017

On the occasion of Golden Jubilee year and 100th Tara Netra

Daan Yagya, students of Sadguru Public School presented an

excellent cultural programme at Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh

Trust, Chitrakoot. Dance performances and plays were

enacted by small kids as well as senior students which were

highly appreciated by the audience. A Dance group from

Jhansi called Kishore Natya Manch also performed Kathak

and Shri Krishna Raslila.

‘Satna district karate championship - 2017’

held at Satna (M.P.) under the banner of

Madhya Pradesh Karate Association.

Sadguru Public school bagged 1 gold med-

al, 6 silver medals and 21 bronze medals

in this karate championship. Prizes were

distributed to the winners by Mrs. Usha B.

Staff members of Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust,

Chitrakoot Organized a Safai Abhiyaan in the

premises of SSSST. Mandakini Ganga Ghats were

cleaned by the members of Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh

Trust. Raghuvir Mandir and Pravachan hall were also

cleaned by the students and teachers of Sanskrit Maha

Vidyalaya.

Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust is celebrating its

Golden Jubilee year & 100TH Tara Netra Yagya this

year with great enthusiasm and joy. A press conference

was organized at the trust premises where Dr. B.K.

Jain – Director & Trustee of SSSST and Dr. Elesh Jain,

administrator spoke about the achievements of the

trust. Dr. Elesh Jain, mentioned that “Sadguru Netra

Chikitsalaya has performed more than 17 lakh

operations till date since its inception and has catered to 1.25 crore patients so far”.

Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya has been performing more than One Lakh cataract surgeries

for the past consecutive five years and is ranked amongst the five best eye institutions in

the world. Dr. Elesh Jain, also mentioned that “Sadguru Netra chikitsalaya has been

organizing 3500 outreach camps each year and performs 150000 surgeries every year

with the help of 100 full-time resident doctors. All media persons have been invited for

the Golden Jubilee Mahotsav which will be held on 21st to 31st october2017.

the evening. Chairman’s eleven was lead by

100th Tara Netra Daan Yagya Cricket Championship Cup –21st Oct. 2017

Sadguru Golden Jubilee Shobha Yatra started with great

enthusiasm from the premises of Shri Sadguru Seva

Sangh Trust (SSSST) and went around various parts of

Chitrakoot. A huge gathering of Saints and SSSST

participants were part of the Shobha Yatra.

Mumbai presented their melodious bhajans. Ms. Pranjali Sharma, a reputed Kathak

dancer, disciple of Gurudev from Indore presented a mesmerizing performance. Sadguru

Pradarshani was also inaugurated by Honourable Chairman, Mr. Vishad P. Mafatlal

wherein photos of Gurudev and his noble work were displayed.

Three days general surgery camp was orga-

nized at Sadguru Sankalp Chikitsalaya (SSC),

Anandpur from 4th-6th October 2017. Dr.

Venkatesh Agrawal from Satna extended

his valuable services for the camp. Dr Vishnu

Jobanputra, Director and Trustee SSSST; Dr.

Venkatesh Agrawal; Smt. Bhartiben

Jobanputra performed the inaugural pujan in

presence of SSC staff. During the three days

camp, over 100 patients were examined while

29 patients received surgical treatment.

Inauguration of Eye Camp by Shri Sadguru Seva Setu Parivar Rajkot: 27th Nov. 2017

Annakoot was celebrated at Shri Ramdas Hanumanji

Mandir Anandpur on 20th October 2017. Bhandara was

followed after the special Pujan performed on the occasion

by Dr. Vishnu Jobanputra, Director and Trustee and Smt.

Bhartiben Jobanputra. Variety of foodstuffs was offered to

the deity and was served to the staff members and

Brahmins at the Bhandara. Following the Indian tradition,

vehicles and other machineries were also worshiped on 21st

October 2017 in presence of support staff of the trust.

Ranchhoddasji Maharaj was celebrated at SSSST

Anandpur on 23rd October 2017 (Kartik Sudhi Chauth).

Paduka Pujan on the occasion was performed at

Gurumani, Shri Ramdas Hanuman Mandir by Shri and

Smt. Suhag Kariya. The atmosphere was echoed by the

Vedic Mantras enchanted with full devotion by students

of Sanskrit Pathshala. Staff and Gurubhai-Bahans

participated in the pujan and took the blessings of his

holiness.

Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Celebrated at Anandpur: 23rd October 2017

In order to promote sports, KHEL-UTSAV in

collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Vidisha was

organized at SSSST Anandpur from 13th-14th

December 2017. Young energetic youth from the

Lateri block participated in various sports such as

Volleyball; Badminton; Kho-Kho; Atheletics etc. The

winners were awarded trophies and certificates of

appreciation by Dr. Vishnu Jobanputra, Director &

Trustee and Mr. Rakesh Sharma, SDM Lateri.

KHEL-UTSAV at SSSST Anandpur: 13th-14th December 2017

Mr. Kavindra Kiyawat, Secretary, Public Health and Family

Welfare visited SSNC Anandpur on 16th December 2017

along with Dr. Hemant Sinha, Joint Director, Blindness. The

guests were welcomed by trustees of SSSST – Dr. Vishnu

Jobanputra and Mr. Goverdhan Upadhyay. Mr. Kiyawat

observed the activities carried on by the trust and discussed

relevant issues with SSNC Team lead by Dr. Vishnu. He

emphasized on strengthening government and SSSST

partnership for the eradication of blindness in the region.
