PARISH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM REGISTRATION

Sacred Heart offers a Parish Religious Education Program of Family Faith Formation for families who have children in Grades 1-6. The Program, which is a partnership between parents and parish, offers classes for parents and children two or three times per month on Sunday mornings following the 9a.m. Mass or Tuesday evenings from 6-7pm. Our Program is a combination of Mass, lessons at home, and formal classroom catechesis; it follows the guidelines from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and uses age-appropriate Catholic materials. On Tuesday, May 26, from 5:15-6:45, PREP staff and catechists will be available in the Parish Meeting Room to offer Program information; you may submit registration paperwork at this time. Registration with discounted fees began in April and will continue through June 15. If your family will be enrolled in PREP for the first time this year, please contact the Faith Formation Office at 610-932-5040 x4 or email [email protected] to begin the registration process. PLEASE NOTE: If you have older children who have not had formal faith formation, please contact us and plan to come on May 26 – it is never too late to lead your family into a closer relationship with Our Lord. We look forward to sharing your family’s journey of faith.

Stewardship Corner ~

Jesus could not have made it more apparent to us as when He says, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel.” As we have noted previously, this is not a suggestion from the Lord, it is a command. The final verses which present that “they went forth and preached everywhere” is our cue to do the same.

It is often said that stewardship is measured by what we do, how we live. This direct summons from Christ is for us to live active lives of stewardship which demonstrate to all we know our witness to our belief and our faith. No matter where we are or what we are doing we represent Jesus and we represent the Church.

Stewardship, discipleship, and evangelization are calls to action, to continue Christ’s presence on Earth. In his exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium, Pope Francis reminds us of this call to evangelization: “Anyone who has experienced God’s saving love does not need much time or lengthy training to go out and proclaim that love.” Let us take our experience of Christ and do this!

Peace,

Kaitlyn Wiant, Director of Operations

Eucharistic Adoration at Sacred Heart Church “Be Still and Know That I am God.”

(Psalm 46:10)

Spend some personal, quiet, one-on-one time with Our Lord Jesus Christ. Eucharistic Adoration is open to all and is held every Tuesday from 8 am to 7 pm and will conclude with a 7 pm Mass. Nothing is needed to do this but an open heart to Our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are in need of adorers for 8 am and 5 pm

If you are interested in becoming an adorer or, would like to have more information

about Eucharistic Adoration at Sacred Heart Church, you may contact Joann Di Liberto at 610 .932. 8962.

What is a Spiritual Bouquet you may ask? Spiritual Bouquets are prayers or devotional acts that you, your family or ministry have or will offer for someone else, in this case to Sacred Heart in thanksgiving for God watching over us for 100 years and counting. It can be given by an individual or group to an individual or group to express joy, sorrow or best wishes, often in commemoration of a special occasion.

Wanted – Pictures for the Commemorative Book and Historic Memorabilia for the Centennial Celebration

The Centennial Committee is reaching out to past and present parishioners of Sacred Heart Church to provide photographs that were taken between the years of 1915-1984 along with pictures dating from 1994 to present that depict Sacred Heart Church events that took place at either the old Sacred Heart Church or the current Sacred Heart Church. The pictures will be scanned for the purpose of incorporating them into the history of the church for a centennial book that will be made available after the close of the centennial year in 2016. Pictures may also be used for display purposes throughout the celebration. We will need your permission to use the pictures that will be featured in the commemorative book. Pictures may be dropped off at the Welcome Desk or the parish office to attention of Maddie Sapp. Please supply your contact information so we may return them to you after they have been scanned. Your assistance in this project is greatly appreciated!

The committee is also looking for any church artifacts or church memorabilia that we may put on display during our centennial year as part of our year long celebration. If you have anything that you would like to share, please let us know. Contact: Sheila Hamilton at 610-932-9992.
