Presentation on the Special Nights of the Sacred Triduum The Sacred Paschal Triduum solemnly celebrates the greatest mysteries of our redemption: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. As the Partnering Parishes of Sacred Heart and St. Charles Borromeo, we want to learn more about the Sacred Paschal Triduum, as the highest rank of all liturgical time, so we can solemnly celebrate the Triduum and grow as two parishes, united in one faith, and one mission, as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. I invite all parishioners of our Partnering Parishes, as well as all those who are involved in liturgical ministries of both parishes (Sacristans, Ushers & Greeters, Choir and Cantors, Lectors, Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion) and Clergy to attend the information night so we can learn new ways of celebrating these most important three days of our liturgical year.

Information Night on the Sacred Paschal Triduum Thursday, February 9, 2017

St. Charles Borromeo Church 7:00-8:30P.M.

Presenter:

Reverend Monsignor Gregory J. Parlante Pastor, St. Cornelius Parish, Chadds Ford

In Marty Haugen’s liturgical song “We Remember,” the liturgical action of the Church is described as threefold: we remember, we

celebrate, we believe. The Paschal Triduum, as the liturgical event par excellence, embodies this paradigm.

World Day of the Sick On Saturday, February 11, 2017 Monsignor Majoros will offer Holy Mass for the Intention of the Sick and Suffering on at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 8:30 A.M. Mass. In addition, he will celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick within Mass for anyone who is in danger due to sickness or old age, and for anyone that will be undergoing a serious surgical procedure. Pope John Paull II designated February 11th as the World Day of the Sick, “a special time of prayer and sharing, of offering one’s suffering for the good of the Church, and of reminding us to see in our sick brother and sister the face of Christ who, by suffering, dying, and rising, achieved the salvation of the human race” (Letter Instituting the World Day of the Sick, 13 May

1992).
