It was agreed that both might follow their own cus- tom. In the fourth general persecution, under the Emperors Lucius Verus and Marcus Aurelius, the Saint was apprehended and brought before the proconsul. Refusing to deny Christ, he was condemned to be burned. Witnesses say that the flames did not touch him, but formed an arch over his head. Thereupon, when he was pierced with a sword; such a great amount of blood issued from the wound that it extinguished the fire. His body was eventually burned, but his bones are preserved in the Church of San Ambrogio in Rome. For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 on-wards.”
