Gifts from the Holy Land
There will be a display of beautiful handmade carvings from the Holy Land available for purchase after the
weekend Masses of February 16th & 17th. These carvings will make beautiful gifts for Easter, Mother’s Day,
Father’s Day, graduation, birthdays, or any other event throughout the year. Proceeds from the sale of these
carvings will benefit Christian families that live in Bethlehem and other areas of the Holy Land.
The Sacred Heart Food Pantry / Clothing Closet will be collecting blankets
and personal hygiene products for the months of January and February.

Discernment Weekend Retreat – March 1-3 – Priest Field Pastoral Center (Kearneysville, W.Va.) – Theme: “Is
God calling you to a life of heroic sacrifice?” This weekend retreat is open for men young and older in all
stages of discernment in order to have an opportunity to pray, meet with priests and go to the Sacrament of
Confession. Overall, there will be talks on the life and spirituality of a diocesan priest with ample
opportunities for prayer and discussion to help men discern their vocation. For more information visit,

Sunday March 17, 2019 Barter Theater in Abingdon, VA Play starts at 3:00 PM We will car pool from the church and stop to eat before the show. Please call the church office to reserve a seat by FEBRUARY 11th. Payment will be due by March 1st. Ticket price depends on the number going (under $40). There is an upcharge if you want an end seat. If you prefer to sit upstairs or on main level, we will need to know this.
