If you have a group that would be interested in having a tour of the inside of the Basilica, Hospitality Minister, Larry Larson can take your group on a 30-40 minute walk around the inside of the Church and provide information on the history of the Basilica. Santa Margarita Catholic High School will be hosting an Open House on Monday evening, January 22nd. The program will begin at 6:30pm in our Moiso Pavilion (gym) and participants
will be broken into tour groups, hearing presentations and learning about our beautiful, state of the art, 42 acre campus and all that we have to offer along the way. UNDERSTANDING THE
RCIA PROCESS WITH
CHILDREN AND YOUTH
What is the RCIA process? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the normal process for baptizing adults in the Roman Catholic Church. It is also the same process for baptizing children who have reached the age of reason. This means that children who have reached school age are no longer baptized using the Rite of Infant Baptism. Such children are to be treated as adults using the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults as it has been adapted for them. These children are capable of receiving and nurturing a personal faith…. They are able to develop and grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to know right from wrong. Like adults, these children are prepared for full initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil. We currently have approximately 30 children who are in the RCIA process adapted for children. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the Sick and Homebound are called to step across the chasm that isolates the suffering and sick who are confined to the narrow world of their homes, facilities, or board and care. Are you being called to pastoral care in the form of personal presence, prayer, and carrying Holy Communion to the sick and homebound in our parish? SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
Preparation classes for celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for adults age 18 and over will begin on Tuesday, January 30, from 7:30 to 9 PM. Meetings will be held in the Youth Center, (basement level of the Pastoral Center). If you have been baptized in the Catholic Church and have received Holy Communion, but have not celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation, please contact the Religious Education Office of Adult Faith Formation, Eileen Smith at 949-234-1354 or [email protected] to register. Celebration of this sacrament will be held on Pentecost Sunday, May 20, 2018.

MENSAJE DE LA SEMANA:
Seguimos en NAVIDAD y celebramos la fiesta de la EPIFANÍA (y de los Reyes), que es algo más que una noche cargada de sueños y de regalos. Es la fiesta de la LUZ que ha brillado en medio de las tinieblas del mundo, para que todos los hombres y mujeres, de toda condición y raza, puedan encontrar al SALVADOR, nacido de María. Y todo esto porque… - es un Dios para TODOS, un Dios COMPARTIDO: Dios se ha hecho SERVIDOR, no de unos cuantos, sino de todos los que le buscan. ¡Éste sí que es un Dios al alcance de todos…! - y, por eso mismo, HOY es el día de los BUSCADORES de Dios, de aquellos y aquellas que lo dejan todo (seguridades, tierras, familia…) para ir al ENCUENTRO de Dios mismo. Los Magos son precisamente el símbolo de todos los que buscan y que “han visto su estrella”. Y… ¡cómo no!, le ENCUENTRAN, aunque tenga una apariencia pobre, la de un indefenso niño. Bello e intenso mensaje el de este día. Podemos encontrarnos en ese grupo de los que se acercan a Belén. ¡Podría cambiar nuestra vida!

Bautizos y Clases Pre-Bautismales
Atención padres de familia y padrinos que bautizaran en la parroquia de Misión Basílica San Juan Capistrano, la próxima clase pre-bautismal se llevara a cabo el sábado, 13 de enero del 2018 de 9:00am a 3:00pm en el Centro Pastoral.
