Alumni general comments

“The present challenge is the long distance between Johannesburg and Durban when events are held in the middle of the week.”

“ I did enjoy previous speaker from IMD (Prof Turpin), his talk was fresh and relevant.”

“These are early days, as we progress in the club we'll be able to see the level of support we can render to the club. For now I would be happy to help with the organisation.”

“The key goal of the club committee is to motivate members to participate and also to tap into the resources that are strategic amongst the club members while also gaining knowledge from others.”

“ I was member of IMD Alumni club in London between 2005 and 2012. There was 4 to 6 events per Year, with a Summer Party(June) and sometimes a New Year Party in Dec or January in the form of a gathering for networking.”

“I see the Alumni Club as extended added value to alumni , this effort and continued support (at no cost to alumni) is part of the distinguishing factors of being an IMD Alumni.”

The  IMD  Alumni  Club  of  Canada  and  the  Swiss-Canadian  Chamber  of  Commerce("SCCC")  have  entered  into  a  cooperation  agreement  to  strengthen  their  business  networksand  to  offer  their  respective  members  new  networking  and  learning  opportunities.

The  alliance  was  officially  launched  in  December  2013  with  a  notice  to  the  members  of  bothorganizations  that  included  a  free  gift  of  $20  of  chocolate  (generously  sponsored  by  LindtCanada).

Our  first  joint  learning  event  was  the  very  well  attended  and  very  well  received  Manage  yourCareer  like  a  Business  interactive  seminar  in  February.

IMD  alumni  were  also  extended  an  invitation  to  participate  in  the  SCCC's  networking  eventsin  December,  February  &  May.  For  those  alumni  that  enjoy  golf,  there's  the  opportunity  to

play  in  the  SCCC  Tournament  on  June  10th.

Our  next  joint  learning  event  is  the  highly  anticipated  Reinventing  your  Business  Model

session  on  June  24th  featuring  special  guest  speaker  Hilti  Corporation  Executive  Boardmember,  Marco  Meyrat.  One  secret  to  maintaining  a  thriving  business  is  recognizing  when  itneeds  a  fundamental  change.  Mr.  Meyrat  will  discuss  how  Hilti  is  capitalizing  on  its  boldstrategy  to  increase  customer  engagement  by  turning  its  product  into  a  service.  It's  a  gamechanging  move  to  avoid  commoditization  and  to  differentiate  itself  from  its  competitors.

For  the  latest  event  updates  and  information,  if  you  haven't  done  so  already,  you're  invited  tojoin  1,200  of  your  IMD  colleagues  on  our  LinkedIn  Group  page.
