College, sells Metropasses to students and staff of George Brown College at a reduced rate.

All SafeWalkers are students who have been trained in Emergency First Aid.
The SafeWalk service is available Monday to Friday, from the first day of school in September through to the last day of school in April

COMMUNITY ACTION CENTRE (CAC) The Community Action Centre (CAC) is a place for George
Brown College students who care about social justice to gather together and support each other, share ideas, socialize, build community, and raise awareness of issues within their communities.
The CAC is the hub for five equity “student groups,” which work both together and independently to represent the interests of their communities.

Events Programming: staff are busy throughout the year planning events, workshops, and discussion groups on issues relevant to the groups.
Campaigns & Advocacy: a space to vision and ignite social justice campaigns that serve marginalized communities.
Referrals and Peer Support: a safer space for connecting and discussing with your peers, and a space to share and access resources.
Library & Resources: a growing social justice alternative library. The CAC also stocks free condoms, lubes, and menstrual products.

Process to Follow:
1. Send an e-mail to the Clubs Coordinator at [email protected] on the type of room required.
2. Include all relevant details when booking a room, including: the name of the club, time, day of the week, how long you would need the room for and if food will be served.
3. All space must be booked a minimum of 10 days in advance.
4. Remember to include setup and takedown times within your booking request.

BOOKING REQUESTSRestrictions
Student Groups can book a maximum of two
rooms per week between September to May.
A room is booked one semester at a time.
The Student Association’s office and spaces are
closed on weekends.
You CAN still book space after hours such as the
Kings Lounge and Games Room however you
have to pay a staff fee ($15 an hour, minimum
of 3 hour shift) & set up fee ($50).

Preparation and organization are the keys to success.
Start planning very early each semester. Give yourself
at least a month to organize an event.
Please fill out an event proposal form 2-3 weeks before
your event and submit it online to at an SA front office.

SA CLUB FUNDING
Three levels of funding:
Bronze
Silver
Gold
All clubs begin at Bronze Status. Clubs must operate for at least one-year and must meet all requirements of their current status before being promoted to the next tier.
Funds will be reimbursed to club Executive Members in the form of a cheque upon completion and approval of all required documentation

SA CLUB FUNDING
Bronze Status
New clubs will begin at Bronze Status and will be granted a
stipend of $300.00 per semester from September to April
A club can receive a maximum stipend of $600.00 for the year
A club must hold a minimum of one (1) event per semester
A minimum of one (1) executive must attend all club meeting
Free printing of thirty (30) posters, per event

Silver Status
Clubs with Silver status will be granted a stipend of $500.00
per semester from September to April
Clubs will achieve Silver Status upon successful completion of
all requirements of Bronze Status over one academic year
A club can receive up to a maximum stipend of $1000.00 for
the year
A Club must hold a minimum of 3 events for the year
All Executive Members must attend all club meetings
Free printing of fifty (50) posters, per event

SA CLUB FUNDING
Clubs Funding Mismanagement
Clubs funding is to be used by the club’s Executive Members for day-to-day operations and events hosted by the event. Clubs funding cannot be used for: Gifts/meals/cash awards for club Executive and members as a
“reward”. However, food for club meetings is considered acceptable use of funds
Honoraria for club Executive Members and club members-at-large
Personal use
Purchase of illicit drugs
Purchase of alcohol

SA CLUB FUNDING Clubs will only receive its money as it is spent, or about to be
spent
Clubs may receive donations and may fundraise if a need exists
and is outlined in the club’s projected annual budget.
Clubs will only be given monies for food for meetings that are
held on campus.
Funding shall only be granted for events held throughout the
academic year; all receipts for reimbursement must be
submitted by the last day of the semester, each year.
Clubs shall be responsible for any/all debts remaining from the
current and previous years;

SA CLUB FUNDING Clubs will only receive reimbursement of expenses upon presentation of
receipts, invoices, or valid written estimates to the Clubs Coordinator.
Attach all appropriate documentation to the Clubs Request for
Withdrawal Form within five school-days of the event or activity for
which reimbursement is required.
Clubs seeking funds in advance of an event or activity must submit a
Club Request for Withdraw Form to the Clubs Coordinator, attaching
appropriate receipts, invoices or valid written estimates at least five
school-days prior to the event or activity in question
A copy of the Clubs Request for Withdrawal Form will be distributed to
the Clubs Coordinator, Finance Coordinator and the club’s Executive
Membership to maintain appropriate records of financial transactions.
All original receipts must go to the Finance Coordinator for audit
purposes.
