Sometimes it's hard to know how to do phase shifts. Here is another way to find your 5 main xvalues to graph:
Set whatever is inside the trig function equal to the
five xvalues of and solve for x.
Solving these 5 short equations gives us 5 new xvalues to graph. This is especially helpful when you have more than one transformation.
Once you have the xvalues, the yvalues are obtained from knowing the vertical shift & amplitude. Let's use this method for the rest of this lesson.

Here we have more than one transformation. It's ok to just shift the points like they show here, but it's looks kind of messy & many people have a difficult time with it. It's easier to use the technique of getting 5 new xvalues.
