Hymn A Mighty Fortress Is Our God #92 (1-4)

A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failingOur helper he amid the flood of mortal ills prevailingFor still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woeHis craft and pow'r are great; and armed with cruel hateOn earth is not his equal

Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losingWere not the right Man on our side, the man of God's own choosingDost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is heLord Sabaoth his name, from age to age the sameAnd he must win the battle

And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo usWe will not fear, for God hath willed his truth to triumph through usThe prince of darkness grim, we tremble not for himHis rage we can endure, for lo! his doom is sureOne little word shall fell him

That Word above all earthly pow'rs, no thanks to them, abidethThe Spirit and the gifts are ours through him who with us sidethLet goods and kindred go, this mortal life alsoThe body they may kill: God's truth abideth stillHis kingdom is forever

Hymn The King of Love My Shepherd Is #184 (1-6)

The King of love my Shepherd is, whose goodness faileth neverI nothing lack if I am his and he is mine forever

Where streams of living water flow my ransomed soul he leadethAnd where the verdant pastures grow, with food celestial feedeth

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, but yet in love he sought meAnd on his shoulder gently laid, and home, rejoicing, brought me

In death's dark vale I fear no ill with thee, dear Lord, beside meThy rod and staff my comfort still, thy cross before to guide me

Thou spread'st a table in my sight; thine unction grace bestowethAnd O what transport of delight from thy pure chalice floweth

And so through all the length of days thy goodness faileth neverGood Shepherd, may I sing thy praise within thy house forever

Silent Confession of Sin

Corporate Prayer of ConfessionHoly God, we have sinned against you times without number. We have been guilty of pride and unbelief, of failure to follow your will in your Word. Our transgressions and shortcomings present us with a list of accusations. Please forgive us. We bless you that they will not stand against us, for all have been laid upon Christ. Please subdue our corruptions, and grant us grace to live above them. Purge us from every false desire, every base aspiration, everything contrary to your rule. Deliver us from every habit and thought that prevents us from taking delight in you. Grant us never to lose sight of the heinousness of sin, the exceeding righteousness of salvation, the exceeding glory of Christ, the exceeding beauty of holiness, and the exceeding wonder of grace. Oh God, hear our prayer; and in hearing, forgive our many sins. We ask this in Christ’s precious and holy name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon Romans 8:3For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh.

Hymn Jesus, Lover of My Soul #508 (1-4)

Page 4: s3.amazonaws.com  · Web viewAnd though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo usWe will not fear, for God hath willed his truth to triumph through usThe prince

Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to thy bosom flyWhile the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is highHide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is pastSafe into the haven guide, O receive my soul at last

Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on theeLeave, ah! leave me not alone, still support and comfort meAll my trust on thee is stayed, all my help from thee I bringCover my defenseless head with the shadow of thy wing

Thou, O Christ, art all I want; more than all in thee I findRaise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blindJust and holy is thy name; I am all unrighteousnessFalse and full of sin I am, thou art full of truth and grace

Plenteous grace with thee is found, grace to cover all my sinLet the healing streams abound; make and keep me pure withinThou of life the fountain art, freely let me take of theeSpring thou up within my heart, rise to all eternity

Hymn All I Have Is Christ

I once was lost in darkest night yet thought I knew the wayThe sin that promised joy and life had led me to the graveI had no hope that You would own a rebel to Your willAnd if You had not loved me first I would refuse You still

But as I ran my hell-bound race indifferent to the costYou looked upon my helpless state and led me to the crossAnd I beheld God’s love displayed you suffered in my placeYou bore the wrath reserved for me now all I know is grace

Hallelujah! All I have is ChristHallelujah! Jesus is my life

Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone and live so all might seeThe strength to follow Your commands could never come from meO Father, use my ransomed life in any way You chooseAnd let my song forever be my only boast is You

Hallelujah! All I have is ChristHallelujah! Jesus is my life

Benediction Numbers 6:24-26The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
