This Guide will cover basic settings of StarPars and how to enable logging system in swtor

as well as how to start a parse using StarParse.

First step would be installing StarPars program it self.

After u are done with downloading and installing u are rdy to move on and start setting up

swtor for combat logging.

This is done by logging in into game and going into preferences menu (u open it by pressing

ESC).

There u fill find in left menu Combat Logging tab. Click on it and then click Enable Combat

After this step is done u are rdy to start setting up StarParse itself.

Now u can open StarParse.

After u open it and StarParse is rdy, to set it up u have to steps to follow.

First Step is Entering our guild’s data – USERNAME for server and PASSWORD!

Have in mind Username and Password are CASE sensitive so be sure to type it same as here.

To set username and password after u open ur SP (future abbreviation for StarParse) u go to

File >> Settings.

When u enter settings go to Raiding tab and on right side of window u type in username and

password.

SM ops

User Name : ADG-Malgus

Click and Enable

Combat Logging

Password : adgmalgus

VM ops

User Name : adg-hm

Password – adg.hm

and click join group!

Last step is for u to check the folder where ur parse combat logs will be it is usually directory

in ur PC where swtor is installed. For me it wasn’t so I had to find it manually. If u have

U go to Settings >>> General tab. There u select ur log directory. IF its selected

automatically go to that directory and check if that really is combat log folder for swtor.

Now to start parse and test SP.

SAVE all settings we did so far and check Raiding tab on SP menu if it says ADGMalgus

IF its not ticked pls select it.

After this option is ticked and saved we can test ur SP.

Click PARSE then click RAID buttons on top right corner. PARSE should be green and

RAID should be yellow till u enter combat. When u enter combat both buttons will be green

if all is set up correctly.

U can also monitor ur stats and pars data on small personal in game window. U can select

things u want in SP UI to be shown in game. Go to tab Interface and select stuff u want to

see in game.

After u enter combat and u do some dmg or heal, after u exit combat, log will show up in SP.

Showing ur details as well as other people in grp (if its ops grp for example u will see whole

raid teams data). This log is set to show top healing done in boss fight.

U can pick what u will see by selecting tab like damage healing etc… or selecting raid to see

full details for all members of the ops grp. (blue square)

On the left side (red circle) u see ur personal parse data.

Next step in using SP is uploading ur combat log/logs, fight or full on log to Parsley

website. http://parsely.io/

U do it by right clicking name of fights/parses on bottom left corner of SP

U have to options u can upload selected combat or upload full combat log.

I suggest u upload full combat log always cus it gives better picture of ur overall dps or hps

or tanking in the operation.

For u to upload parses u need to make parsley account and type in ur data in SP.

U open setting then go to upload parse and fill in the details. Pls make sure its same as u did

on website. Click register button on parsley website then fill in details and register. After that

put same details in SP as shown below and u are rdy to upload parse.

After u followed the steps u right click the fights/logs in SP u want to upload and select

upload whole log.

After u do so parse will be uploaded and in right top corner u will get link for ur parse. Copy

it and paste it on our discrd channel parse links sharing and u will get back review.

Also u can open and upload ur old logs.

U just go to File >>> Open Log and select log from list.

DUMMY PARSING

Have in mind while u do test parse on Training dummy :

DO NOT HAVE BOLSTER ON U!!! DO NOT HAVE UR COMPANION WITH U!!!

DO NOT HAVE ANY1 ELSE IN THE ROOM!!!

U CAN USE STIMS AND ADRENALS!

What u need to pick is following :

FOR DPS Parses

Operation Training scenario, armor reduction module and Training Dummy Advanced

Health Modulator that gives dummy 6.5 mil HP. Attack the dummy till u kill it and upload

the parse as explained above.

U get these when u click on small Astromech Droid to the left back corner of the room.

For Healing parses it doesn’t matter that much if u do them or not cus healing is very

circumstance. But sometimes is nice what HPS / EHPS u can pull off.

Click on console and pick HEALING TRANING SCENARIO. Small droid and dummy will

appear. Apply to the dummy Training Dummy Healing Invigorator Module and heal for 5

mins. As marked on pic above with blue circle.

As for proper healing parse that can take bit more time, u can pick advanced health Module

for 6.5 mil HP, Invigorator module as before and heal the dummy till its fully healed.

Depending on ur healing output this can take quite some time. So I advise try it as said above

for 5 mins and if ur EHPS is lower then 12k don’t try it with 6.5 mil HP just yet.

Don’t forget to attack small droid hovering in air next to dummy when doing healing

parse cus if u aren’t in combat StarParse wont record your healing!

Some widely accepted DPS and Heal Parses

DPS

Above 20k – NiM rdy and all VMs rdy

From 16k to 20k – All VMs rdy, except Gods.

14k DPS – rdy for most VM ops and all SM ops

Below 10k – Few VMs like EV and KP and all SM ops

Below 8k – need more practice for ops (or better gear) and u can do easy SMs like EV SnV

DF and KP. For DP, Ravagers and ToS I advise higher dps output.

Heal

Above 14k EHPS – All VMs rdy

13k EHPS – All vms rdy except gods and ToS

Below 12k EHPS – All ops except Gods VM, ToS VM, Ravagers VM.

Below 10k EHPS – more practice or better gear

This isn’t precise cus some heal classes like Sorc are in disadvantage compared to burst

heals like oper and merc on 1 target things especialy cus Force barrier wont count

towards ur healing on dummy. Also roming mend will jump back and forth reducing

ur Effective healing.

IMPORTANT

When looking at healing parse HPS so to say doesn’t matter. What are u looking for is

EHPS – Effective healing. U can find it as raw number or % compared to ur total

healing done. In ops parses this will show if u are OVERHEALING. If ur eff healing is

very low % that means u should try to dps so u help out and not waste energy and time

on healing people with full health.

One of the dummies u can use with full training scenario and all u need is on our Rishi

HQ. U can travel there by pressing U, going to guild tab and clicking travel to Rishi

HQ. Then go to nearby elevator that behind u when u spawn and go to patrol carrier.

Then when u are on patrol carrier find Training room as shown on Pic below/

Here u have the map of patrol carrier so u can more easily find the training room.

To travel to our rishi SH press U, select guild tab and click travel under Rishi HQ. U will

find elevator for patrol carrier behind u when u spawn on rishi sh. Its on opposite side of

small pvp arena.
