NOTICES NEW Many thanks to all those who made the Christmas services so very special at St Mary’s. A service at St Mary’s is at the centre of Christmas celebrations for thousands of people in our local area, and we can only offer what we do because of the time and gifts of so many people– thank you all. NEW There are housebound members of the congregation and others who receive Holy Communion at home. If this is something you would be interested in, on a regular or occasional basis, please do speak to one of the clergy.NEW Suitcases for The Gambia. Thanks to everyone who have offered or given us suitcases to take items out to The Gambia, we now have enough to meet our needs for the next six journeys, i.e. two years. We are most grateful for your help, it has been amazing. Now we just need to fill them! John and Dorothy Baxter.

NEW Foodbank Wish List

NEEDED: Cooking Sauces. Sponge puddings. Tinned vegetable. Sugar (small size only, please.) Nappies size 6. Shampoo/conditioner.

There are lots in the cupboard of the following so these items are not wanted at the moment, thank you: Baked beans. Pasta. Pulses. Rice. Tinned soup. Cereal.

If you want to contribute to the Food Bank but feel unable to carry it to church, then why not pop your item in the Food Bank receptacles after you have gone through the checkout at the supermarket of your choice? The

following shops are all collection points for our local Food Bank: Waitrose, Epsom, and Banstead. Sainsbury in Kiln Lane and Leatherhead. Asda, Burgh Heath. Tesco, Leatherhead.

A monthly series of recitals by Jonathan Holmes covering the entire organ works of BachTue 21 Jan: Bereavement Café 2:45–3:45pm in the church hall. Open to all who would like to discuss experiences around bereavement.Fri 24 Jan: Family Flix. After school, a family friendly film on the big screen. Watch this space for more details!Sat 25 Jan: Boardgames Afternoon. 3pm-5pm in the church hall. Come along and bring a favourite board game or play one from the Vicar’s collection. The social committee provide delicious tea (or squash) and cakes. Sunday Prayer CycleToday we pray for the church and the world and especially for The Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand & Polynesia; for The Education Team in the Diocese of Guildford; for the mission of the parish and next Sunday’s meeting for everyone in church at 11am “A New Year for St Mary’s.”; and for all who live in London Road.

Prayer ResourcesPlease light a candle and add a prayer to our prayer board.You can ask our prayer chain to pray for you or for someone else. Contact Wendy Varney on 020 8393 5212.Once a month (usually the third Sunday) at the 9.30am service there is an opportunity after you have received Holy Communion or a blessing for you to ask for prayer either for yourself or for someone else. The prayer can be for anything that is a concern to you and confidentiality will be respected in accordance with Church of England policy. Please ask if you have any questions.
