Today I pray that you are having a peaceful and blessed Christmas season with your loved ones and friends. It is once again the end of another year and the beginning of a fresh new year. A year where we can start again to be the good person Jesus calls each of us to be. As I wish for each of us a blessed and Happy New Year I also pray that we open our hearts to hear God in our daily lives as He guides us to live out His will for us here on earth.

We all realize how hectic our daily lives become as we fulfill our obligations to family, work and friends, however, we must always remember that every minute we are blessed with is a gift from God and we owe it to Him to slow down and take the time to strengthen our relationship with Him in prayer. By allowing ourselves to become so busy that we have little time for ourselves, much less for God, we become an obstacle to God guiding us to His will for our lives. We need to make time for God every day to allow Him to take care of us. The hardest part is to make the resolution and take the steps to begin to put aside that time for God in our daily lives. It is continuously my prayer that we keep our relationship with God always strong despite our daily distractions.

May we spend more quiet time with God each day in 2012 and May we and our loved ones be blessed by the Graces God has for each of us. May we all be blessed with good health and a truly Happy New Year!

Hoy rezo para que estés teniendo una pacífica y

bendecida temporada de Navidad con tus seres queridos y amistades. Una vez más es el final de otro año y el principio de uno nuevo. Un año donde podamos empezar nuevamente a ser la persona buena que Jesús espera que seamos cada uno de nosotros. Así como deseo que tengamos un Año Nuevo lleno de Felicidad y bendiciones también pido para que abramos nuestros corazones y escuchemos diariamente a Dios mientras El nos guía a que vivamos de acuerdo a Su voluntad aquí en la tierra.

Todos nos damos cuenta lo atareada que se convierte nuestra vida diaria cumpliendo con las obligaciones de la familia, el trabajo y las amistades, sin embargo debemos recordar siempre que cada minuto con que se nos ha bendecido es un don de Dios y se lo debemos a El, por lo tanto debemos detenernos y tomar el tiempo para fortalecer nuestra relación con Dios mediante la oración. Cuando permitimos que nuestra vida se vuelva tan ocupada que ni siquiera tenemos algo de tiempo para nosotros mismos y mucho menos para el Señor, nos convertimos en un obstáculo para el cumplimiento de la voluntad de Dios en nuestras vidas. Necesitamos apartar tiempo para Dios todos los días, permitiendo que El se haga cargo de nosotros. La parte más difícil es hacer la resolución de empezar a reservar tiempo para Dios en nuestra vida cotidiana. Oro continuamente para que mantengamos nuestra relación con Dios siempre fuerte a pesar de las distracciones diarias.

Que pasemos más tiempo en silencio con Dios cada día del 2012 y que en unión de nuestros seres queridos seamos bendecidos con todas las gracias que Dios tiene para cada uno de nosotros. Que seamos todos bendecidos con buena salud y un verdadero Año Nuevo!

SACRAMENTAL INFORMATION: BAPTISM: Parents must be active registered members of St. Theresa for three months before they may begin the Baptism process. Baptism preparation classes are held in the Conference Room of the Parish Life Center as follows:

• Third Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m.— English

• Fourth Saturday of every month at 4:30 p.m. - Español

Baptism Ceremonies (No Mass) are held in our Sanctuary at 9:00 AM as follows:

• Second Saturday of every month in English

• Third Saturday of every month in Spanish FIRST COMMUNION: Prepared and Celebrated in 2nd Grade (required to attend PSR at least 1 year prior to receiving sacrament as this is a 2 year process).

CONFIRMATION: Prepared and Celebrated in 10th Grade (required to attend PSR classes at least 1 year prior to receiving sacrament as this is a 2 year process).

MARRIAGE: The couple must be registered, active members of this parish for a minimum of three months before marriage preparation can begin. Please call the Parish Office to make an appointment with Priest at least six months in advance.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK: This Sacrament is available by appointment for any Catholic who is ill or entering the hospital for any reason. Please call the parish office to receive this Sacrament.

STEWARDSHIP WORD OF WISDOM PALABRAS DE SABIDURIA

In St. Luke’s Gospel, shepherds find Maria, Joseph, and the infant Jesus in a stable in Bethlehem and understood what had been told them-Mary, the Mother of God, has given birth to Jesus, the Word made flesh. Mary, along with Joseph, becomes the first disciple of Christ. St. Paul teaches that through Jesus, the Son of God, born of Mary, we become children of God. Stewards begins by accepting discipleship in the Lord. Let us follow Mary’s example of fully trusting in God’s call and doing His will in our lives.

AROUND THE ARCHDIOCESE/ ALREDEDOR DE LA ARQUIDIOCESIS

The office for Black Catholic Ministry, together with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, is launching a “St. Vincent de Paul 10 Ton Food Drive” to support programming that feeds ten of thousands of Georgia families and individuals. The “St. Vincent de Paul 10 Ton Food Drive” begins with the Archdiocesan office for Black Catholic Ministry’s 2012 Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend Celebration on Saturday, January 14, 1:00 pm, at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It will continue with the Youth Program on Sunday, January 15, 3:00 pm, at St. Peter Claver Regional Catholic School, and will end on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012. The Office for Black Catholic Ministry will seek support for the food drive from the business and philanthropic communities and invites you to join our combined efforts by either contributing to your local conference or directly to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Atlanta, 2050-C Chamblee Tucker Rd., Atlanta, GA 30341.
