Ryabushinsky’s Mansion in the street Malaya Nikitskaya is a classical sample of a private

residence of an early modernist style. Here is triumphed the cubic volume. It is underlined

by horizontals of cornice's plates strongly brought forward and asymmetric ledges of walls, massive porches, balconies. Every

façade is unique, that's why all of them are equal.

The building is faced with light glazed brick, and on the top of the building there is a wide mosaic frieze with irises. It reveals aesthetic expressiveness of smooth surface of the

walls with squares of great windows.

All details of interior decoration, down to door handles, lighting

fixtures, furniture, are thought over carefully and given with an aesthetic value. Care of beauty and comfort is

visible in everything.

Rationalism of a lay-out of internal premises grouped around of the smart ladder, is combined with irrationality of the decor refined forms (the smart ladder parapet, the

fireplace relief , a metal lattice in the arche tympan of the dining room doorway and its wooden frame, an iron skeleton of chandeliers and like that). Each room is independent

and isolated; at the same time we see a distinct aspiration to joining up of internal space, to its free fluidity.
