CAUSE
After you get chickenpox, you are more prone to getting Shingles
Virus remains dormant Stress is another way this virus can occur If you have not had the chicken pox, direct
contact with a person with Shingle can result in you getting chicken pox.
TREATMENTS/PHARMACOLOGY
Prescriptions Acyclovir, famciclovir, and valacyclovir
Prescriptions should be taken within 24 hours of pain and itching
Home Remedies Cool wet compresses, soothing baths/lotions, and
rest
PROGRESSION OF THE DISEASE
There are three stages for this progression Prodromal Stage: The rash is yet to appear, but
you feel burning, tingling, and numbness Active Stage: The rash starts forming around the
affected area. The blister crust over in about 5 days
Postherpetic Neuralgia: Skin clears and the pain can linger or worsen
