How the Spiral Valve Operation Works

The compression volume varies to suitthe air demand by progressivelyopening or closing internal bypassports on the air-end.

Capacity is matched to systemdemand, reducing cycling time andextending component life.

Part load capacity and efficiency canproduce energy savings up to 17%.

Variable Displacement Air-End

Sullair’s variable displacement air-endmaintains system pressure to

the plant to match air demand. Sincethe VCC compressors use large,efficient,slow running rotors, a lowerpower consumption is achieved at thetop end of capacity. Oil foaming doesnot occur, air is not wasted toatmosphere, and bearings last longer.

The motor and air-end run at optimumspeed and therefore maintain optimumefficiency throughout the full variableoutput range.

Sullair VCC compressors react quicklyto rapid changes in demand. Theeffective rotor length is progressivelyreduced as the demand is reducedwhich provides the most efficient part

load control system to 50% output.This system is extremely simple andprovides a cost-effective, energy-efficient control alternative.

The Sullair System.

The Sullair System matches a Sullaircompressor, a Sullair dryer and Sullairfilters. Sullair assures that its Systemwill meet specific performance levelsthroughout its operational life. We offera one-year test/review period, backedby a purchase refund guarantee, toverify the performance of the SullairSystem.

Select the System.

Select the air quality level to meet yourplant air or process requirements. Youcan be assured that the quality of airfrom the Sullair System you specify willremain consistent for the life of theequipment. Sullair guarantees it... andthat’s as good as gold.

The Sullair Oil-Free AirQuality Guarantee.

The System consistsof a Sullair

compressor,Sullair dryer,and Sullair SCFand SCH or

PF/PH filters. Thecompressed air from this

system contains particulates no largerthan .01 micron, including coalescedliquid water and lubricants.

Maximum remaining oil aerosolcontent is 0.01 parts per million byweight (ppm/w) @ 70°F, including oilvapor. The air from this Sullair Systemmeets the most stringent ISO standard(ISO 8573.1, Class 1) for air quality.

The Sullair Critical Air QualityGuarantee.

The compressed air from this SullairSystem exceeds the ISO standard(ISO 8573.1, Class 1) for air qualitywith the use of the SCC or PC filter.The System includes a Sullaircompressor, Sullair dryer, and SullairSCF, SCH, and SCC; or PF, PH, andPC filters. The odor-free compressedair from this system containsparticulates no larger than 0.01 micron,including water and oil aerosol contentof 0.01 parts per million by weight(ppm/w) @ 70°F. The remaining oilvapor content is less than 0.003 ppm/w.

These Systems are not intended to remove carbonmonoxide, methyl isocyanate or other noxious,corrosive or toxic gases, vapors or fumes. The system does not provide breathing air.

Quality air treatment — the removal of condensate and particulate — isessential. When cooled, vapor in compressed air will condense. The removal of condensate and particulate is essential for qualityair. First, the air must be dry. Vaporin compressed air will condensewhen cooled. Without removing thecondensate, moisture in the airstream can damage your totalcompressed air system, product,or process. To protect your plantair system and air-usingequipment, particulate must beremoved by filtration. Sullair filterswill provide this protection andimprove the quality of your product orprocess.
