COVID-19 Update With a new executive order declaring a public health emergency, Gov. Tony Evers added nearly two additional months to the statewide mandate on wearing face masks. The governor issued the order Tuesday replacing the original one, in which the requirement for face coverings would have ended on Monday. The order pushes that back 60 days with the new mandate set to expire on November 21st. Please see the school website for Covid-19 updates and parent resources. There is a picture (above) on the front page of the website that will take you to many helpful resources as you await test results, isolation guidance, quarantine guidance, testing sites, etc. https://www.holyspiritknights.org/covid-19 Q. My child has a cough or two of the symptoms on part 2 of the Health Screening Checklist 2020-21. What should I do? A. Contact your medical provider and have your child tested for COVID-19. Updated Guidelines for students being at school: September 1, 2020 . If that child has siblings in school, the siblings will be sent home, or siblings should not be sent to school, if a family member meets the symptom criteria. This is the "best practice" recommended by DHS. Please see the last line on page 20 of this document. If you can isolate the child with symptoms from your other children, please do so. Close Contacts are determined by the last contacted day of a COVID-19 positive person. The quicker you quarantine from a potential positive case, the quicker your students could return to school. If the child with symptoms COVID-19 test results are negative, and there is NOT a known close contact to a COVID-19 positive case and the individual is fever free is fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication, the child and their siblings may return to school. They do not need to isolate for 10 days.

Free Hot Lunch… Yes, FREE!! Thanks to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Holy Spirit Catholic School is now offering a free lunch for all children 18 and younger throughout the Holy Spirit community. This means that whether attending school in person, or virtually, and whether enrolled in Holy Spirit or not, a free, school-provided lunch is available for all children 18 and younger. The flexibility in the school lunch program will ensure that all children part of the Holy Spirit community are able to access meals under all circumstances. Meals will include an entree with assorted fruits and vegetables, along with a choice of chocolate or white milk. The meals will follow the hot lunch calendar. Cold lunch milk or snack milk fees are not included in this program. Meals will not be served on days off or with no school for the children. If a family at home, would like to call in and order a meal, please call (920) 733-2651 or email [email protected] by 8:30 am to order your free lunch. Lunch pick up will be from 10:45-11:00 am in the school front office area. These free meals are retroactive from the start of the 2020-21 school year. So, if students ordered hot lunch this year, those funds will be returned to your PowerSchool lunch account. Free lunch meals will continue until December 31, 2020, or until the funds run out. Playground Volunteers Needed If parents are available and willing, we are opening up times for parents to help outside with recess supervision. Mrs. Sprangers will be on duty every recess (morning, lunch and afternoon) and we will have another teacher or staff member scheduled for recess duty with her. However, if you would like to make a teacher’s day by volunteering for recess duty outside, we'd gladly take the help. We are asking that our parent volunteers wear a mask while outside. Volunteers must be VIRTUS trained. No need to come inside and check in, just sign up, show up and make a teacher/staff member’s day a little easier.
