Once again, Riders With A
Purpose represented CMA at the
SolancoFair.Ourboothwasback,and
busy, aswe handed out cross-pennies
and shared information about CMA’s
international ministry to the motor-
cycling community. “We have been
havingalotofgreatconversationswith
people,” said John Zook, who mannedthe booth nearly around the clock. “I
can’t wait to see where this goes.”

CelebrateRecovery
They say thatwhen traveling,
“halfthe fun isgetting there.” It took
overfivehourstogettogettoOcean
City, MD last month, and “fun “ was
notmuchapartoftherideatall!But
everyoneagreed,itwasworththetrip!Well, those that made it all the way,
thatis.WeleftRD’searlythatmorning
with a group of 10, but when
afternoon arrived, and wewere “not
thereyet” threeof our members had
to make the tough decision to turn
back due to commitments that
evening.So,JohnZook,JohnFreeman,
and long-time chapter friend Hap
Millerheadedbackhome.Therestof
thegroupreachedtheAtlanticabouta
half hour later, took a walk on the
beach, the boardwalk, and had a
wonderful dinner. Many crabs gave
theirlivesforus,andwethankthem!
Kids, of course, enjoyed the
candyweweregivingout.Butwealso
sharedalotofcardswithourmeeting
information,andCMAflyers.Thereis
a definite thirst for whatwehave to
offer. People want to know Christ-
andmanyofthosepeoplealsoliketo
ride.Hundredsofcrosspennieswere
handedouttoo.Pleasepraythatthese
seeds are cultivated, and through His
grace,willseefruit!
RidersWithA Purpose have
been asked to serve meals to
participants in the Celebrating
Recovery program. The group
meets atWesley UnitedMethodist
Church, just outside of Quarryville.
RWAP has been asked to serve on
the third Friday of each month,beginning in September. “There’s
not much to it this year,: Beth
Freeman explained. She and her
husbandJohntookthefirststintfor
thismonth. “We serve the meals
andcleanup.Thereislittletoclean
up because they are using paper
now.” If you can fit it into your
schedule, consider this worthwhile
servantevent.AsChristremindsus,
“Inasmuchasyehavedoneitunto
one of the least of these my
brethren,yehavedoneituntome.”

“AdventureRide”buttgotalukewarm
reception.Atthesametime,therehas
beenaclamorheardfromthechapter,“When are we having another
progressive supper?” So, by popular
demand (democracy is alive and well
here,itseems)September28willbeour
next Progressive Supper. There is
lighterfare,aswellasafallthemethis
time-as you’l l see with the dessert

TheProgressiveSupper
Returns!
Once again RWAP will be
participating in the annual benefit
ride for the local scout camps ofCampBashoreinJonestown,PA,and
Camp Mack near Brickerville. The
ride will begin at about 11:00 AM
fromBashore,andfollowourfavorite
routenorthtowardLykens,alongthe
DehartDam,eventuallycomingsouth
throughShafferstownandintoCamp
Mack off of route 501. he ride will
take about 2.5 hours, and lunch is
provided at Mack at the end of the
ride. RWAP will also have out tent
and CMA infobooth set upatMacksothatwecanshare.Wehavealso
beenaskedtodoabikeblessingand
leadaprayerbeforedeparture.
Entry fee is $25 for single
rider, $35 for two, which includes
lunch.
RWAP will meet at Fergies
in Quarryville at 7 AM and ride
togethertothestartingpoint(Camp
Bashore)withabreakfaststopalong
theway.Allarewelcome!
