OVERVIEW With over 20 years of creative agency as well as client-side experience Russell has a proven track record of helping international brands develop digital experiences, taking leadership roles from concept through to execution. Recognised as a creative leader and innovator Russell is able to challenge traditional constraints and deliver leading solutions that deliver results for his clients. Russell has consistently delivered for the agencies he has worked for, building and leading digital specialists that work together as a tight team, governed by a strong vision and a determination to challenge the status quo, work around and through challenges and design effective, user-centred digital solutions for some of the worlds leading brands. For the majority of Russell’s career he was a Creative Director and led several teams working for clients such as British Airways, Radisson Edwardian Hotels, O 2 , Opodo, and Barclays developing award winning digital solutions. Russell then spent time as a Digital Marketing Consultant and as a Managing Director for a leading digital agency before heading to New Zealand to start a new life with his young family. Since Nov 2010 Russell has held the position of Group Head of Interactive for Designworks, one of Australasia’s leading design practices, where he formalised the Interactive offering taking it from a team of 2 to a successful and thriving 18 strong group of highly motivated digital specailists. Russell and the team work with some of New Zealand’s best brands from Air New Zealand, CourierPost, Fonterra, Kiwibank, Tourism New Zealand and Unitec as well as a growing global portfolio in Cathay Pacific, oOh!Media and IDAIR to name a few. Russell has delivered exceptional results for Designworks increasing revenues by 675% since joining the team and in 2013 grew fee revenue by over 70% yoy with strong underlying PBT. Russell’s work has won several awards over the years, including a recent Best Award, and he has also been involved in a number of judging roles. He is also a Chartered Marketer through The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Russell has consistently delivered for the agencies he has worked for, building and leading digital specialists that work together as a tight team, governed by a strong vision and a determination to challenge the status quo, work around and through challenges and design effective, user-centred digital solutions for some of the worlds leading brands.
