Welcome to Festival 2016!Welcome once again to this year's Rush Harbour Festival . How lucky we are to live in this beautiful and unique part of Ireland, surrounded on two sides by sea with rich sandy soil, yielding an abundance of early crops. Famous throughout the country for our early Rush Queens, tomatoes and vegetables of every variety, the skills and traditions of our local farmers give us much to be proud of.

Our Festival Park, nestled between the silky sands of the north beach and the sheltered cove of the quaint fishing harbour, from where, a mere “hop & a skip” around the headland brings you to the magnificent south beach.

This years festival programme is packed with events from Friday to Monday and as always our local business community and Fingal County Council have generously sponsored activities. We appreciate their shared vision for the Festival and take this opportunity on behalf of Rush Harbour Festival and the entire Community to say a very sincere thank you!

A year’s planning has gone into 2016’s festival and it is our aspiration to be the facilitators of happy memory making. We want you, your family, friends and neighbours to have the opportunity to share happy times together as a community and one day look back with fond and precious memories of happy festival times.

We appreciate your continued support and participation in all of the festival events, whatever the weather! It is a testimony to your community spirit, as you flock to each and every event, making a success of every occasion. Huge thanks to each and every volunteer, without you this could not happen. Rush is unique in the level of 'volunteerism' that is displayed over this weekend, young and old take part and ensure the Festival is an absolute success year on year.

So, in our centenary year, re-live the old days, create lasting memories for you and your children, spread your blanket on the ground and picnic the Festival days away

Steve Cummins is an author, stand up comedian and radio host. Prior to this incarnation he worked with juvenile offenders in the U.K. and Ireland as well as working with adolescent gang members in the U.S.A.. He is currently the resident host of The Laughter Lounge.

Kevin Mc Gahern is best known for his work on RTÉ’s flagship sketch show Republic of Telly and for playing Sim Card in massive Irish hit comedy Hardy Bucks, McGahern has also been cutting his teeth on the Irish stand-up circuit, earning the respect of even the most grizzled of professionals.

Gerry McBride has performed stand-up all across the country for years, and his hilarious take on Irish life also landed him a job for Waterford Whispers News, where he has written over a thousand articles.

Michael Mee has been described by Time Out New York as “Woody Allen with a Cork brogue” and has toured with Des Bishop. A former solicitor and law lecturer, he is now a full-time stand-up comedian and writer.
