• Our conventional energy sources like coal , oils and gases are going to end in next few years.

• 1 liter of Kerosene and Diesel emits 2.41kg and 2.67 kg of CO2 respectively.

• Saving 1 unit of electricity will save 756 Kg of coal.(The Guardian, 1000567, June 2016)

Overview

Overview• Germany and Portugal have achieved 100% energy fulfillment using

renewable sources.(Science Direct, July 2016)

• In India, 33% of rural population still don’t have access to electricity and 52% lack access to clean cooking facilities. (Down To Earth, 10034, June 2016)

• Sitting around kerosene lamps for one day is same as inhaling four cigarettes.

Green Energy Entrepreneurship Development

• Teach For Green aims to provide entrepreneurship and skill development training to rural and urban youth & women.

• Fundamental understanding of nature and scientific laws, electric circuits and components, specifications and uses.

• Understanding and creating awareness about green energy by small system such as lamp, toy car, mobile charger to provide a solid basis to better grasp of instructions for larger grid assembly, repair and maintenance

Page 15: Rural Entrepreneurship in Green and Renewable Energy technologies

Entrepreneurship Development• Develop to add up a new kind of feature in skilled artisan-cum-

technicians by getting the knowledge to design, construct and repair solar lamps.

• Design and developing his own customized solar lamp products for customer and per market requirements, generating income and sustaining independent livelihoods.

Page 16: Rural Entrepreneurship in Green and Renewable Energy technologies

• The main aim of this program is to create impact over school students as there is a significant lack in teaching facilities for science, energy and environment.

• We have developed a 45 weeks module on activity based learning which we conduct one day in a week with schools.

School Curriculum Building

Page 17: Rural Entrepreneurship in Green and Renewable Energy technologies

School Curriculum Building• Teach For Green aims to create over all focus on students with giving them

a chance to understand reality about environment and green energy scenario such that a rational mindset can be developed among them.

Page 18: Rural Entrepreneurship in Green and Renewable Energy technologies

Youth Innovation Centre• We are running youth innovation center for children from nearby

rural areas and for underprivileged community.

• In village schools, the problem of infrastructure & quality of education is a big obstruction for the growth and development.

• At our centers, either after or before school timings, students come and engage in different kinds of activity based learning which they are not getting in their schools and household premises, like science practicals, computer, soft skills, games, music.

Green Energy Consultancy• Teach For Green aims to provide consultation and support to individuals,

institutions and organizations for various issues pertaining to Solar Energy, Solar Plant set up, Solar smart grid and other Green Energy related problems.

Journey So Far• We have conducted 15 green energy workshops with 450 students in 9 different

states both government & private schools.

• Kids eagerly participated in these workshops and came out with numerous designs of their own.

Page 21: Rural Entrepreneurship in Green and Renewable Energy technologies

Journey So Far• We have conducted green energy entrepreneurship development workshop

with 60 rural youths.

• 10 youths have started their own enterprises on solar at the village level.

• We are running school support program with 10 government schools in Delhi.

• We are running one youth innovation center at Nehura Village, Palamau, Jharkhand.

Journey So Far

Page 23: Rural Entrepreneurship in Green and Renewable Energy technologies

Our Campaign-A Kit for Kid• There are villages and hamlets which are still un-electrified, such as reserved

forest, hilly areas and tribal villages of UP, Odisha and MP where grid electricity can’t be reached.

• In Community, especially kids & women are suffer the most as they have to study & work during evening time when there is no electricity available.

• We want to conduct workshops in these areas with kids so they will get to know about solar & have lamps for their study and household works.

• So any person can sponsor a kit for at least one kid so he will be able to get proper lighting for study.
