Rune magic is an integral part of a Nordic shamanic way of knowledge that was long forgotten but has come back with great strength towards the end of the 20th century. The runes are now flowing into our own time in a dynamic and creative way. This course is held in the wilderness area of Tiveden.

The runes possess a great inherent power. They represent knowledge from Mother Earth and do express the totality of all knowledge that is dispersed everywhere. The runes are archetypes originating from the beginning of creation and they are doorways into Dreamtime, the

non-ordinary reality. They can be utilized to bring healing, harmony and balance to humans, animals, plants, minerals and Mother Earth.

In this course the participants will work with the runes in combination with other shamanic methods such as soul journeying, vision quests and walkabouts, ceremonies at sacred sites and the Nordic variant of the sweat lodge. The course also deals with the many connections between rune magic and quantum physics, alchemy and the concepts of archetypes and synchronicities. The aim is to give the participants a personal understanding of how the runes can be used as tools in order to think and act in beauty and contribute to harmony and balance in the world. The runes will help participants to find their own unique ways to knowledge and power.

Jörgen I. Eriksson has worked in the Nordic shamanic tradition for more than 35 years. He has written several books on Nordic shamanism and on Saami and Navajo spiritual traditions. His book Rune magic and shamanism has been translated into English, German and Estonian. Workshop Details

Getting There: Nearest airports are Gothenburg or Stockholm. By car it takes approximately three hours from either Gothenburg or Stockholm. If traveling by train instead, the nearest train station is Laxå and from Laxå there is a bus line to Perstorp. Depending on requests, we can organise shuttles from Laxå to the Conference Centre for an additional £10 one-way (based on 4 passengers). If you are not coming by car this may be preferable since buses do not run frequently.

Practicalities: The workshop starts at 18:30 on Thursday, 21 September 2017 (arrivals between 16:00 and 18:00) and ends at 16:00 on Sunday, 24 September 2017. The course will be taught in English.

Price: £410 (does not include travel costs) – fully residential. A deposit of £150 is required to secure a place on the course. The balance is due by 1 August 2017 and payment in 2 instalments can be arranged with final payment to be made by 1 August 2017. All bank fees to be paid by attendee. Refunds and cancellations subject to conditions (see booking form). B&B accommodation (with dinner) is possible for Sunday evening with notice by 1 August 2017 at an extra cost of £50 – please see me if desired.

Accommodation: The workshop is fully residential limited to a maximum of 16 participants and accommodation comprises rooms with two, three and four beds with separate shared bathrooms. Note that there are no single room options available and allocation will be made by us depending on sex and numbers. This means there is a possibility that couples may be separated, however if you do wish to share with someone attending please let us know.

Cancellations. For cancellations prior to 1st June 2017 we will return all paid amounts minus a £30 administration fee. For cancellations between 1st June 2017 and 1st August 2017 we will return any paid amounts minus the £150 deposit and an administrative fee of £30. There will be no refunds for cancellations after 1st August 2017. All bank charges for refunds to be paid by the attendee.
