This village too had an ancient temple which waslost to humanity also due to neglect and efflux of time.However, revenue records indicated a large piece of landmeasuring 52 cents marked as Temple land. Even thevillage folk did not know that there existed a Shiva templebut an astrologer based in Hyderabad AP could preciselyindicate the details. This could be only due to the Lords

own way of manifesting his presence to the humans andthe way the details were provided is quite astonishing!

The excavation of the land revealed the existenceof an old temple dated back some 800 years or more. Ahuge Shivling was found as also a beautiful statue of LordKarthikeya in the form of Arumugasamy. While no other deitycould be found, the basements pertaining to the Swami, Ambal, Murugar, Vinayagar, Chandikeshwarar, Natarajar sannidhis were found apart from the Mahamandap andthe temple kitchen areas. A large number of stone pillarsand other construction materials were found during theexcavation and this indicated that a massive structuremight have been there centuries back!

As per the tradition and accepted practice, beforetaking up any matter relating to a temple, Deiva Prasannam( invocation of the Gods blessings) was conducted to seekdivine sanction and to perform the requisite rituals foundnecessary and to rectify the defects, if any. The Prasannamindicated that the God is known as Runahareswara, theone who clears all the debts and the Goddess is known asMangalambika. Every human being born into this worldincurs three kinds of debts viz.,

ii) Deb s incurred due o neglec of service o Godand periodical orship as manda ed by he scrip ures( Deva ha deb s)

iii) Deb s incurred due o failure o perform periodical

As per scrip ures, hose ho orship his God a ainsalva ion from he above deb s and ill lead a happyfamily life.

The renovation and restoration of the temple workis being undertaken by the family of Late MargabanduIyer, Village head whose ancestors were also villageheads, his relatives and the villagers at large. Devoteesare humbly requested to contribute in cash or kind for thedivine activity.
