English ADVANCED – Run Idioms
She couldn’t run her own family. She didn’t love her husband but she would never run out on him.
The woman who couldn’t run
Once there was a woman who couldn’t run at all.
Besides, she wouldn’t make any plans, either in the short run or in the long run.
She never ever ran into anybody either on the bus, or the supermarket.
Finally, on her deathbed, her husband came to her and told her: “Sweetheart, you’ve run eventually!”
Regardless, she would try hard and she was never run down.
“And, how’s that possible?”, she asked.
“You’ve just run out of time!”, he answered
