Teamsheetsarepostedatleast72hoursinadvance(withgreaternoticeifatallpossible)ontheLGSRugbynoticeboardandontheSchoolsSportswebsiteathttp://sports.leicestergrammar.org.uk/Fixtures_Teams.asp?Id=164&S=20162017&SID=24.
Up-to-datedetailsregardingfixtures,suchaskickofftimes,canalsobefoundonthiswebsiteand/ortheSchoolCalendarontheLGSwebsite.TeamsheetsshouldNOTbeamendedoralteredbypupils.AnyinaccuraciesshouldbereportedtotheMasteri/cassoonastheyarenoticed.Arrangementsinthisdocumentareliabletochangeand/orcancellation.AnyinformationregardingthecancellationofafixturewillbepostedontheRugbynoticeboard,orintheeventofthefixturebeingcancelledonaSaturdaytheinformationwillbesentviaParentMail.
AllboysrepresentingtheschoolatRugbyFootballwillbeexpectedtopurchaseapairofhoopedteamsocks.Non-LGSkitmustnotbewornforfixtures,gamesortraining.Boots(predominantlyblack)andtrainersshouldbebroughttoEVERYsession.Ifpermissionisgrantedtoattendlessonsinkit,afullschooltracksuitmustbeworn.
WhereapupilisfacedwithamultipleSchoolcommitmentonacertaindate,theDirectorofRugbyshouldbemadeawareassoonastheclashisnoticedandhewilldiscussthematterwiththeappropriatememberofstaff.Anamicableagreementoverthepupil’sprioritycommitmentwillbemade.Thepupilinquestionmustnotmaketheirownchoiceorbepressuredinanywaybyanyparty.
AnyrequesttobeexcusedfromateampracticeshouldbepresentedtotheMasteri/coftheteaminquestionATLEAST24hoursinadvanceofthepracticeinordertomakeaneducatedselectionofthestartingXV/VIIforthenextfixture.
RugbyFootballProtocolLGSRUGBYINJURYPROTOCOLFollowinganinjury,theinjuredplayerisresponsibleforobtainingprofessionalguidanceregardingthetreatmentoftheinjuryinquestion(forinstance,fromaqualifiedphysiotherapist).Everyeffortwillbemadetomakeprovisionforanyprogrammerecommendedtotreattheinjurywhenbothourfacilitiesandlogisticsallow.Forheadinjuries,therecommendedRFUprotocolwillbefollowedwithoutexception.Itistheresponsibilityofboththeplayerandparenttobeawareofwhatthisentails,andthiscanbefoundathttp://www.englandrugby.com/mm/Document/MyRugby/Headcase/01/30/49/57/returntoplayafterconcussion_Neutral.pdf
TheinjuredplayershouldinformtheMasteri/coftheirteamofthenature,severityandexpecteddurationoftheinjuryviaawrittennoteintheSchoolPlannerorletterfromaparent/guardianaftertakingappropriateadvice.SixthFormplayersshouldinformtheMasteri/cofthe1st XVor2nd XVofthenature,severityandexpecteddurationoftheinjurywithsupportingevidenceifnecessary.TheMasteri/cshouldberegularlyupdatedontheprogressoftheinjury(weeklyasaminimum).Injuriesmustbereportedassoonaspossiblee.g.theMondayfollowingaSaturdayfixture,ortheWednesdayfollowingaTuesdayfixture.

RugbyFootballProtocolREQUESTOFABSENCEItisatthediscretionoftheDirectorofRugbytoreleasechildrenfromfixturesprovidingtherehasbeenadequatenotice (atleast72hours)andthereisavalidreason.Hence,anyrequestforabsencefromacalendaredfixturemadeafter1000hrsontheWednesdaypriortotheSaturdayfixtureinquestionwillNOTbeapproved,unlesstherequestedabsenceisanemergencyand/orunforeseen.TherequestmustbeintheformofawrittennoteintheSchoolPlanneroraletterfromparentstoenabletheDirectorofRugbytoprovideanimmediateverbalresponsetothepupilpresentingit.Thereasonforanyabsencemustbeexceptional– attendingsportingeventsorplayingforotherteamsratherthantheSchoolarenotexceptionalcircumstances.Emailcommunicationtoanypartywill NOT beacceptedasarequestforabsence.IfthisdoesnotresolvethematteritwillbepassedtotheDirectorofSport,whowillthendecideifitshouldsubsequentlybereferredtotheAssistantHead,DeputyHead(Academic)and/ortheHeadmaster.
Shouldastudentbetakenillonthedayofthefixture,theTeamCaptainshouldbecontactedassoonaspossible,whowillthenliaisewiththeMasteri/coftheteam.AnoteintheSchoolPlannerorletterfromaparent/guardianshouldbebroughttotheDirectorofRugbyat0820hrsonthemorningoftheirreturnexplainingthenatureoftheillness.IfapupilisabsentonthedaybeforeafixturetheyshouldcommunicatewiththeTeamCaptaininordertoinformtheMasteri/cregardingtheirhealth.
REPRESENTATIVERUGBY/LEICESTERTIGERSDPPAnytrialsorselectionatthisleveloraboveshouldbebroughttotheattentionoftheDirectorofRugbyurgently.ThisisinordertomanagetheamountofRugbyplayedweeklyandtohighlightclasheswithschoolpracticesorfixtures.TheDirectorofRugbywillthenliaisewithselectorsandcoachestoensurethewellbeingoftheplayerisofutmostimportance.TheplayermustnotassumethatrepresentativetrialsorfixturestakepriorityoverSchoolrugby– aplannedapproachwillensuretheplayerisabletotakeadvantageoftheopportunitiesofferedatvariouslevels.
